He's a gem of a pick up

We have so many guys on our roster right now, and on the IR, I wonder if Lynch might be doing a lot of wheeling and dealing during the draft. I would be looking to peddle off as many of these guys that don't appear to be long term fits for what ever we can get. Not saying we'll get much for some of them, but something is better than cutting them for nothing. Moves like the Ravens did with that OL guy that we traded for, and then just ended up cutting. The Ravens got a pick for a guy they were going to cut any ways.
If I was Lynch, I would basically say everyone is available, and to give the best offer on every guy by a certain date. Then when that date comes, pick and choose which guys you value the offer more than the player has to us. Quick way to shed some guys, and add draft capital before the draft.
get rid of quality back ups , just to get a 5th/6th round pick ?, no thanks

we need to have good depth

This

We're in a much better position going into the draft than I can remember.

We don't have to draft for depth even though we still will get some.

We can, IMO, look for some impact guys.

Under contract through 2019 too!

Just re-watched the Jax game. Man, he really had a solid game and was very active. He is going to be a heck of a back-up if not sneak into a starter role. He could be another Ian Williams type player/find for us.

This would be very nice
I think he's starter quality and I bet he's motivated after Jax cut him. For us it means we don't have to draft any interior Dline for a couple of years and I'm happy about that.
A gift from the Jaguars. It was a dumb move to cut a 23-year-old player in his second year that they invested an early day-3 pick in. Sheldon will have a big role on the team next year.

Another great acquisitions for Lynch. He's done really well in year one.

Day is going to be a great rotational player for a while here. He has the potential to be a started down the road
Great addition Lynch

At the minimum, he's a very good rotational player, and he could eventually be one of our starting DTs.

Another really, really solid game. Really solid player and pick-up!
He definitely changes the decisions to be made on the DL, i.e. the rookie Jones might have trouble making the roster next year and the option year for AA, which the 49ers will probably pass on.

Initially i had no idea who he was, but good grief, the jags can afford to cut guys like a 23 yr old Day? Wow. The DL is getting more and more stacked as we go forward. Still that ONE ER will end up making every single guy on the DL a way better player. But depth? Yes we have it and between marsh and day, we have improved the D overall. John has continued to add and cut, add and cut, each time bringing up the level of play of the team. Between UGA, Clemson, and ALA, there must be 7 or 8 ferocious , awesome DLs , many headed for all pro status. And here balked was drafting out of the PAC 12. Sheesh.
Him and Marsh are must-signs. Tank too unless Saleh wants Thomas and AA to play there.
