We definitely need to improve our pass rush..
Two things win games.
1. Keep our QB up.
2. Knock opposing QB Down.

Bingo. It's all about strengthening the trenches on both sides to build a solid foundation long term. Everyone wants to splurge money on a star CB - which I don't disagree with - but if the pass rush isn't significantly improved, the new guy will eventually get picked on too because even the best coverage eventually crumbles with minimal pressure. Lynch expressed strong desire to get to the QB more often in 2018 earlier in the offseason so I'd be stunned if they stand pat and don't at least try to upgrade.

That draft day trade with the Saints really helped get us Garoppolo, by getting that extra 2nd this year.
I like the Marsh signing. I thought the defense got a spark when he was in the game.

AB. you are the only one i trust. after the jimmy deal . are we setting good cap wise,. i hear different figures from 60 million to 80 million dollars in cap space,. what do you know because you are the smartest person on this board with this stuff

Yes we're fine, We're at about $74m under right now, as for future years, depending on the cap, $89M in 2019, $149M in 2020, $181M in 2021, before carryover, and other deals of course.

Any reason why Paraag would say that we have $62 million in space when in fact we have closer to $74?

he's likely factoring in the draft class, and being cautious with the cap, maybe thinking it will be lower than the reported $178M we've heard it may end up being.

That seems right. The rookie pool was $11.3M last year so $74M - $11.3M = $62.7M as we again, have 9/10 picks.

Does that include UDFAs? I don't see us needing to add as many players but could be wrong.

Anyhoot let's re-sign Fusco and Coyle with that 2.7 and we're still sitting pretty at 60 mi. Ward, Beadles,Watson and Aldrick could be gone to create 15.45 mill in further cap space

I don't mind Fusco but assuming we add a Guard either in FA or early in the draft I'm happy to let Tomlinson or Garnett battle for starting RG.

Last year we were picking at 2. This year we are picking at 9-10.

The numbers are a bit lower at that slot obviously. 8.2 - 9.5 depending on the coin flip with the raiders.

Not bad for all the starters we got last year.

Yes sir...might be closer to $10M this year.
Doesn't this contract for Marsh seem like a little over pay? I know we have tons of money, but is he being looked at as a potential starter, or just rotational player? Also would he have gotten this much on the open market?
