This is only a big deal to Patriot fans. No one else cares.
I'm sure a lot of ex patriot and current patriots feel the same way. Most are smart enough to let it go so they don't get the blowback that Marsh is getting today. Its easy to sit here and say the Patriot culture produces championships so he should shut up but despite what us fans think, winning isn't everything for a lot of players. That paycheck is #1.
How many of you would stay at an employer that you hated to work for when other employers were offering you the same job at higher or equal pay? Not many.

why? fans complain that football players act like robots and never say nothing, and when they do is "shut your mouth" it's a game, it's a sport, it's entertainment. let them speak up and talk s**t if they want to, this isn't the Army.

Playing for championships on an almost annual basis is not fun?
Lane Johnson said the same, Welker, Amendola, and a lot others. Ya, BB is a dick, it's not a fun environment, he treats it like a job, even though most players look at football as fun, what it should be. It's a game...it's not a job, when you think about it. Football players aren't dealing with building infrastructure, policing neighborhoods, or having to save lives. It's a game...not sure why that's so hard for some to understand lol.
Agree, and I'll just add that there is a cultural difference between the East Coast and the West Coast. I think the West Coast is more laid back and zen like, than the East Coast which is more puritanical work till you drop kind of environment. Not making a judgement on which culture is better, but rather making an observation that different people different strokes kind of thing. I think Cassius is more of a west coast guy than an east coast guy.
Most of the players work just as hard, and so do these teams (minus the Brows lol), the media makes it look like this team is more "blue collar" than the other, and the only time that is true it's with the Pats. You don't hear players who left the Steelers or Ravens or another successful North East team and complain about the work load and lack of "fun". BB has had success because of how he treats this game and his players, which is a communist work like environment lol. It produces results, but the workers are not happy...
Agree. BB treats the game as a *grind.* That's his word for it. Bellicheat comes from a defensive background and defense is all about destroying, offense is all about creating and building. Kyle is offense is all about fun, surprise, tricks and outwitting or outsmarting the defense. Both Kyle and Bellicheat are good coaches, and I think they are saying essentially the same thing, it's just Bellicheat is saying it in a (as you said) much more communist way than a capitalist way.

Agree
The proof is in the pudding.
I hope he has a fire in his belly!
I agree, and hope he does have fire in his belly, and he does have big impact this season, otherwise all his words will be meaningless. Personally, as much as I liked how he dominated in the last Rams game, I think he's at his ceiling - I really don't think he can improve and become better. Just a gut feeling.

Succeeding consistently at the highest level can be like that.
It's easy to be critical in hindsight, but I think most fans would be happy with the type of success the Pats have.
Every once in a while you strike gold like warriors did. Hard working but brotherly culture. But for long term success, I don't see how you succeed without a culture like the Pats had. Especially for football. There's just too many personalities to be able to sustain long term without it.
A big part of their success is Tom Brady.
Yea of course. But without a great coach, front office, and supporting cast.. you end up with a Brees/Saints situation. And Brady ain't even as good as brees in my point of view.or even Rodgers. 13 years or so and only one super bowl for a qb that id take over Brady any day.
Good point. The saints are all offense and (as far as I know) not very much defense. They're good enough to get into the playoffs, not enough to win the super bowl, from my standpoint. And I agree, it's coaching and front office. The Pats have done a good job balancing the offense and defense to where they have a good enough offense and an outstanding defense year in and year out to win super bowls. I was hoping Kyle would draft defense (specially edge rusher) this draft cycle, and rely on his coaching skills to develop offense - but I'm scared he's going down the road of the Saints, which is all offense and very little defense.

Good point. I'm undervaluing the later draft picks (Like Pita and D.J.Reed). I *hope* the coaching staff can develop these guys. I'd like nothing more than draft all pros and hall of fame players in the 5th through 7th rounds. Even better if we get them via undrafted free agency!
But you are right, that's a lot of draft capital going to the defense.
