Nothing wild... But I think he'll firmly get 5 sacks, I'm projecting 7/+.

His game should take off more with a better surrounding cast.

My line is 3.5. You're on record for taking the over, Smokey!

I'm taking the under, but I hope I'm wrong.

Hell definitely get 4 my dude

He had 2 sacks and 2 FF in 6 games, jumping right in it fresh off a plane after being with the Patriots all year. I know he played in the system but some terminology and calls are different right? And he had to learn that on the fly.

Our team you cant lie ended up hella depleted around the time he came in, so the boost of overall considerably better personnel... Majority of the defense going into year two of the system(Toomer and Sherm already know the system), I don't see why in 16 weeks he can't get 5+.

LOL...my man Smokes is the ultimate optimist. Someone is going to have to start a prediction thread soon.

The 53 seems pretty locked down already barring injury and a surprise here and there.

I gave my reasons above. If he played all 16 games last year he would had 4.5+...

I'm with you. 4.5 seems more than obtainable!

How many of those is Defo going to have to hold the tackle for him?

He's going in as the starter, from what it looks like. But since we didn't invest a lot in him, draft pick or money wise, he better produce early on or he's gonna go back to the bench.

Yup. The defense overall, starters/depth is going be to improved...i just can't see why he couldn't get 5 firm plus being in his prime and once again reasons I mentioned above. Causing turnovers is nothing to sneeze at either. 5 turnovers forced are IMO better than 10 sacks IMO.

He had one, if not more, sacks called back because of Dante Johnson. So I agree, 4.5+ is a good number for 2018.

Which game?

He had one vs. Chicago where Defo held the left tackle, and the other against the Rams backup left tackle.

WTH ST was doing on that play? Every other rusher was within at least 2 yards away from the QB but ST, and he had one-on-one. Unless he was spying the QB but I highly doubt it. Hopefully he improves dramatically this coming season.

I'm speculating but it could be that Saleh told the interior d-linemen that if they found themselves in a position that they weren't winning against the o-lineman or a double team and their teammates are having better luck, then they should transition to spying on the QB. Early in the year the team got burnt quite a bit by QBs squirting out and finding an open field for at least five yards or more.
Someone from the patriots side telling locker room stuff about marsh. Not cool broah. I don't have a problem with anything marsh said about the pats. The pats leaking locker room stuff is borderline and doesn't reflect well on whoever leaked it.
