I hope it's a "Preseason Vanilla" reason.
I doubt it has anything to do with vanilla.
I watched him the whole first drive and any other time I could find him. His pass rush sucks. Unless he's just not showing his pass rush moves because of preseason (which i doubt) all he can do is try and speed around the edge and it never works. He's got no power and has no real moves being a speed rush that OTs can handle with their eyes closed. Our pass rush is in serious trouble.
Can I ask you this, how many sacks or pressures did Aldon Smith have in 2011 and 2012 preseason?
Marsh is no where NEAR the talent aldon was, but I get your point it's preseason and there's a lot of vanilla d. Then there's guys like Marcus rush who look like a 10 plus sack guy during the preseason
I was watching Attaochu, he looked rusty. Marsh didn't do anything exotic like any stunts or inside rushes with the ones. He pretty much played big end on nickel and was a contain man. Pita has the explosion and the quickness, but they are bringing him along slowly. He is still playing with the threes. He was able to flush out the QB from the pocket in the late 4rth QTR. Still disappointed that there was no sacks on that last drive by the Texans.
Also the Texans were throwing a lot of quick passes and screens to negate the pass rush. I think the pass rushers could have pinned their ears back more if we were ahead more. That turnover by Williams hurt, we were in the redzone and then also the penalty by Richburg hurt, and too us out of scoring. I think if we were a TD or two ahead, we might have had more hits and sacks on the QB.
