Wait did I just say that? Dorsey with all those draft picks at his disposal could be pretty dangerous.

The hiring will raise immediate questions about whether the Browns complied with the Rooney Rule, which requires NFL teams to interview at least one minority candidate for all head-coaching and G.M. jobs. The Browns had clearly decided on Dorsey, who is white, before they even fired Brown.

PFT can get go get bent.

They apparently interviewed Mike Singletary for GM to satisfy Rooney Rule,

When the Browns draft Rosen and Dorsey fills holes and cleans up the rest that teams gonna finally compete... only been a few decades

I doubt that with Dorsey running the show.

Dorsey got fired in K.C. due to personality conflicts, and we know Hue has had more than his share. I really have a hard time seeing this paring lasting long term. I'm sure when the rubber meets the road Dorsey will win a showdown between him and Hue.

I had a nightmare that Cleveland went after Alex Smith

So John Dorsey is official.....good job Cleveland.

And please don't do it Alex Smith, do not go to the Browns!!!! I'd like to see Alex Smith in either Jacksonville or Washington.

This man just drafted Smith's replacement. You really think he's going to pull in Alex? Dorsey is a top 5 evaluator and what he can do with all that cap room plus draft picks can turn the Browns around quick af

Meh. Im not on the suck off Dorsey bandwagon. If he was that good then chiefs would be a legit contender instead now they might not make the playoffs.

Iirc the reason the Browns had to give up so much in the ill-fated trade is because McCarron had an extra year of control. I.e. Garopollo is a FA this offseason, McCarron isn't a FA til 2019

Chiefs issues have far more to do with injuries and coaching than talent. Dorsey is a terrific talent evaluator. Where he got himself in trouble was spending unwisely.

If a year ago you had told he would be the 49ers GM, I'd still be doing cartwheels right now.
Lynch > Dorsey

Before he was hired by the 49ers, not a single person on this site would have chosen Lynch over Dorsey.

Its fine to be happy with what Lynch might do in the future but he's got a ways to go.

I feel you. But now perhaps Reid was gonna bounce if they didnt fire Dorsey and after the collapse theyve had... Its in excusable in a weaker AFC. The talent they have there is not all that impressive IMO. But for the Browns?... Hey gotta start somewhere lol.
