What a clown organization in CAR. They honestly thought they were gonna set the league on fire with Baker? Baker was in a similar situation with JG with the offseason surg. Only with Baker, he had a new system to learn as well. Obviously gonna take time. If they weren't in on Rhule they should have made this move last January. Now they are stuck with an interim.. and will select a new HC a year later than they should have. They just delayed the franchise rebuild by one year.

Sean Payton wasnt available yet. that report back in May said Payton was their target in 2023

Pretty much. We have him down for Colts, Broncos, Panthers, Cards and Raiders. He will be the first man in NFL history to coach 5 squads at once.

We knocked out their HC, QB and DC in the same game.. this is historic. We gave em a franchise altering beat down.

It doesn't set them back if they tank and draft an elite QB

I suppose..

It would be like if we kept Chip Kelly going into 2017 and we weren't very sold on him.. then canned him early in 2017..

Kelly was 4 years $25 M

Rhule was like 7 years $62 M

longer leash with those numbers (they owe him like $40 M )

Good lord 40M just to fire a man. Can you imagine making that decision or cutting that check. I would just ride it out. We had a vision and we are gonna give it time to come to fruition. Give him the 7 years.

Can't unless you wanna be embarrassed weekly by having no fans show up and more opposing fans pack the stadium like yesterday. These owners are billionaires and it's nothing to them to write that check and they're very prideful so seeing their stadium look like that is flat out embarrassing to them. Add the fact you lose the players with all that losing. GM should've been canned too for the qbs Rhule had his whole tenure add the fact you seriously can't be have like 0-1 wins when opposing teams score 17 pts or more in your whole tenure

They should have hired a local guy from Dairy Queen you would have gotten beat up like Rhule did and kept the 40 million.

they fired him early in the hopes he becomes a frontrunner for a college job. the new contract from a college team will offset the money owed in the buyout.

I know some coaches have been paid by two organizations

hard tanking of the panthers with Wilks as interim. He was god awful in Arizona, but netted the Cards the No1 overall at least.

So, I wasn't too soon after all - Matt Rhule has been fired.
With just 5 games completed, this is the fastest firing [IIRC] to date.
Question being, who's next?

Next is Hackett with Frank Reich as a dark horse candidate.

Brandon Staley and his propensity to go for it in the absolute worst situations (which managed to not bite him in the ass somehow yesterday)

Brandon Staley is the guy people should always bring up when someone says Kyle should go for it cause analytics.

Yup, according to some fans, we should be more like the Brandon Staley led Chargers.
