If Belichick wants to go back to being HC, he should give up the GM side and lean on someone in the FO to get him the players he needs. Walsh gave that up and it still works well for him back in his days.

If Belichick willing to do that, he can be with any team he wants. Both Dallas and Philly need a good dose of strict structure like Belichick.
Walsh never gave anything up when it came to what players he wanted. He was ALWAYS the guy who made the final call on all player personnel.

There's usually back and forth between coach and GM.

Despite Walsh turning the franchise around, albeit taking some time in the wake of Joe Thomas in the late 1970s (finding quarterback Joe Montana and wide receiver Dwight Clark sure helped), the greatest head coach in 49ers history smartly gave up general manager duties after 1982.

Walsh gave up the GM position and moved up to team president. He thought too much on his plate, John McVay took the duty, did a wonderful job.

He gave up the title but never gave up personnel decisions. He was the final say on who was drafted and who was brought in for his roster. McVay handled a lot of admistrative duties but not personnel

I'm pretty sure the only one asking the questions is Bill in that Head Coach interview.

Literally calls plays for one year. Let's interview him for our head coaching job. The NFL just goes through coaches too fast.

I hope he stays. Help Stroud one more year to be even better. If Slowik is that good, he will still be a hot HC candidate after next year. Demeco did something similar after 2021. Took another year with the Niners in 2022.

He is already a hot HC candidate.

He calls plays for one year, which might mean he has more experience compared to Mike McDaniel when McDaniel was hired by the Dolphins.

Either very stupid or something was happening behind the scenes.
Browns on their 4th QB and without their RB, but were still scoring at a consistent level.

They need to once again try to make it work for Deshaun Watson. They simply cannot get out of that contract.

i don't know about consistent. Flacco was pulling out some passes out of his ass during the reg season.. he came back to earth in Houston

having the offense played bad in one game does not contradict the argument that it was playing quite consistent in despite of installing an unemployed Flacco during the season.
