Ben Johnson's first practice will be checking out DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze's passing ability.

Lol. Pay good money for Johnson's internal thoughts when Williams let that pass fly

Dude put the season in the hands of a guy who was suspended twice if memory serves me correctly for gambling. You want a gambling addict to throw the ball away? Fold? Before the river? f**k no gotta pay to see that river!

Good for them.
Bears fans can only hope they got it right. No guarantee that Johnson will be a great HC. Still he can at least help the offense and Caleb Williams. Now all he has to do is build the O line and shore up the defense. Oh and build a good coaching staff.
Bears job was by far the best job available. So much better then the Raiders job and it is not even close. A talented roster, that had a terrible year, due to coaching and QB play. Yes, you are banking on Fixing Caleb who looked awful. But if Caleb sucks, no one will blame Johnson because he sucked before. If it happens they just draft another QB and you are guaranteed a second chance at the same job. Unlike some of the other jobs that are QB needy who will have one attempt at getting it right. Plus, it is not looking like the greatest year to be swinging for the fences in the draft.
Williams actually played pretty well last season. He ended up with only 300 yards less than Purdy and the same number of TDs (20) with half the INTs (6). That's with a coaching change in mid season.

Relative to what? Rarely are quality teams changing their HC.

How often do jobs like the 2010 49ers or 2023 Chargers become available? Usually if you are going somewhere, it's a bad spot. The 49ers were a terrible place for Kyle Shanahan to go to in January 2017, possibly the worst job available.

Ben Johnson to the Bears is causing an amazing amount of depression among Raider fans. They are now onto Pete Carrol as their favorite option 🤣

I mean ..he is a culture builder. And I'd love to see Harbaugh and Carroll go at it, part 3. It would be great for football, if he can get the Raiders to respectability.

Detroit Lions fans don't truly realize how bad things are going to get after this offseason.

Indeed. I don't think it's appreciated how hard it is to win in this league, to do it consistently, to win playoff games, keep good players coming in, and have a good staff.
On another note, I think we are in trouble with our DC search. If Saleh is getting a second interview- 2nd interview usually means the job is yours. I think Saleh deserves a second shot. I'm shocked the Jags would take him. He got a bad deal in New York, but the fact is, he has never had a good offense with his team. The defense will be hell on wheels with that talent however.

I hope the Raiders hire Pete just for a renewal of his rivalry with Harbaugh. Would be entertaining for sure.

In that case, Jacksonville is hiring three HCs. Seems awkward but it might just work.
