I think it's been a team evaluation with many people involved, as they have mentioned to us. We have had some info given to us on picks, like Purdy for example.

How us as fans can evaluate that "team" is near impossible. We don't know who is giving great opinions, advice, and evaluations for the most part. Or vice versa.

We have and have had a good team so losing anyone probably sucks as something was working. But it's almost impossible for us to say this could be any more significant of a loss as it was losing Martin Mayhew for example.

Sad to see but good for him. It would have been nice to see him retained with a promotion, but what are you going to do?

His loss isn't insignificant, but he's not indispensable. ShanaLynch have been pretty good a backfilling front office losses.

Scouting and coming up with a draft board is not a 1 man show. There are hundreds of scouts that travel the country in search of talent. Peters and Lynch have final say but it's with the information given to them from scouts.

This team has lost 2 good DCs in recent seasons. They survived and are still one of the elite teams. I'm actually more concerned about who gets hired in Seattle. I doubt it will happen but I would hate to see Harbaugh take that job.

disagree. Lynch IMO is more of a PR guy and project manager than talent evaluator. Kyle is the mastermind, but to downplay how important Peters was to the roster building is silly.

Yea. Whereas Kyle and Lynch are deciding on the picks in the first few rounds (dopes), Peters was the guy findings the gems in the middle and late rounds. HUGE LOSS IMO.

I would like the FO to hire somebody who knows what the hell they are doing in drafting in the first 3 rounds...this has been a disaster...

They need to win the Superbowl this year. Its all going to fall off a cliff with Kyle handling the draft duties

Sucks, but I wish him well.

I think after 7 years Lynch has grown as well and its not like we know this guy inside out.

Let Lynch bring in fresh blood and keep it going.

Per Florio the Niners tried hard to keep him. It sounds like he wanted to spread his wings and run his own shop.
