As I write this they announced that Peters was hired by WA.
disagree. Lynch IMO is more of a PR guy and project manager than talent evaluator. Kyle is the mastermind, but to downplay how important Peters was to the roster building is silly.
Yea. Whereas Kyle and Lynch are deciding on the picks in the first few rounds (dopes), Peters was the guy findings the gems in the middle and late rounds. HUGE LOSS IMO.

This is correct
Exactly, do we know who made what picks? I read a rumor he Loved Lance. I mean it'll hurt I'm sure, but its not like John is a complete dope.

If he wanted to run his own deal, there's nothing the 49ers could have given him.
With Washington he gets a hands off owner that will let him run the show with the #2 pick in the draft, a crapload of cap space and the ability to pick his own HC. That's a whole lot of power to go with a nice payday I'm sure.

Why are we all assuming that AP was the late round guy and Lynch and Shanny were the early round guys? What evidence do you all have for this?

Its safe to say that Lynch isnt retiring if the 9ers win the superbowl.
There have been talks of Lynch retiring for a few years now, and I imagine that wouldve been part of a convo with Peters.

That's what I just asked. We have read many conflicting stories the last 7 years.

Do you have proof it was all Peters? So you don't think Peters suggested the "dopes" in the first few rounds? You really think Kyle and John only deal with the top 100 and let Peters take over from there?

Keep the thread in NinerTalk for 24 hours. Like any player thread after the player leaves the 49ers.

The Commanders have agreed to terms with Adam Peters to be GM, but the contract isn't signed yet. They'll evaluate current GM Martin Mayhew (who AP worked with in San Francisco), exec Marty Hurney, and the scouting dept. in the coming days.

Some wiggle room on titles ...
(1/2)
... But the idea in naming Peters, a younger exec, GM and not president of football ops could be to give him the chance to promote him again down the line. Either way, Peters will lead the football operation.
