This. Glad the Niners stayed away.
Of course they did. But won't he be disgruntled sharing the backfield (or playing 2nd fiddle) to the rookie?

He's going to be great for them.

I wish the 49ers front office new they could turn salary cap off like in Madden before they traded Buck.

The salary cap isnt real. No one will ever be able to convince me it is.

He already got paid $15M from NYJ. He can sign at the vet min with KC.

Indeed. My post stands.
He hasn't had a run OVER 20 YARDS in 2 years. If he plays over their rookie RB CEH is may be a downgrade even though he's good at catching passes.

Big deal, KC got a good backup RB

Ready for action
so the niners have cap issues and the champs can add bell.

The Chiefs had $177 (One hundred and seventy seven dollars, not millions) in capspace and then agreed to give Mahomes and Chris Jones almost $600M combined.

The cap is imaginary. It can be totally manipulated to the point where it is irrelevant. Not even sure how its a debate.

Bell's biggest mistake was ever leaving Pittsburgh. Not sure how much he has left in the tank...he hasn't shown much of anything since 2017. Leave it to Andy Reid, though, and he'll get something good. Coach should be good with what he's got...I'm only anxious to see what Hasty can do, which I think is plenty.

Slow and no longer explosive. We'll see.

Indeed, KC just keeps paying players. Not sure how this keeps working for other teams and not us.
I just want JJ Watt to get in a fight with the coach and then get cut so we can sign him for the vet min.

He did fight BoB. BoB was fired. Watt in Houston is bigger than Jesus.

Agreed. Al the way the contracts are written. Up front, spread over x # years, incentives, sign-on bonus, what years they are applied, etc. It's all creative accounting. With the number of players on each team, you would need some NASA developed Excel spreadsheets to figure out how is the best way to categorize where to put the money. A player could sign a huge contract, and in a year or 2, get cut, and walk away ether loaded, or still with nothing. If I was a player, I would not only hire an agent, but an accountant with Aspergers who is great in math so I know what's what.

Baseball is even worse, There is a cap, but if you go over it, there's a financial penalty....big deal. No wonder yankees were always in it. Just buy the championship.
Of course the cap can be manipulated. The niners have done that several times by re-doing contracts and moving money around. Back loading contracts and using signing bonuses. Lot's of stuff can be done but it can't be done forever. Sooner or later it catches up to you and it will with the Chiefs. Eventually the front office has to look down the road and see hwat contracts are coming up, who they want to keep, and try and project how much they will have available.

The cap is real but it can be worked. I don't know what the Chiefs did, but they had to move some money around to fit Bell in.
