He should fake an injury and flip the bird towards the Steelers.

Is Bell the first player ever to hold out a full season?

recently yes, all time no
After star running back John Riggins refused to renegotiate his contract in the summer of 1980, he decided to skip the entire season. A year later he returned, famously saying, "I'm bored, I'm broke, and I'm back." A season later, he was named MVP of Super Bowl XVII.

I could see him ending up with the Jets.
They are wayyyyyyyyyy under the cap w/lots of bucks to spend.
He'd make a media killing in NYC.

He's saving a bunch of wear and tear on his body but is also out $14.5 million. Going to be interesting to see what kinds of offers he gets compared to what Pittsburgh offered him as a long term deal.

I can see the owners colluding and keep the offers low to discourage this in the future.

He's going to sign a nice great contract, that won't make up for the money he lost out on, and then proceed to get injured and his career will circle the drain

He wants a guaranteed money deal like Cousins and as a RB he will never see it.
