I see it as almost a lateral move by the Skins. To trade for Smith this early and for what they would've offered Cousins would indicate Cousins doesn't want to sign with them.

Now Gruden can stick with Smith the next 2 years, draft his own qb, and build the team around Smith and a qb in the draft.

They basically let go an over achiever qb that makes decisions beyond his ability for an underachiever that plays within his limit and the teams limit. Smith is not the 'I'm going to make the team better'. He's the 'I'm going to play within the limit of the team' type.

Brady loses his important TE during the game, still able to pull out a win. Smith loses his TE —0 pts in the second half.

They are pretty dang close (I give Cousins a slight edge) Mr. Webzone talent evaluator/scout/GM
Kirk Cousins = Alex Smith with bigger arm and bigger hands

Kirk Cousins = Alex Smith with bigger arm and bigger hands + bad decisions + more picks + more losses + more playing from behind which leads to more yards

Zero points in the second half but with a huge lead. Give Andy a lead and he can lose the game. I was very worried at half, but wouldn't have been if they had a three point lead or were behind by three. I agree that in many ways it's a lateral move...replacing a gunslinger with a solid no mistake guy, but at a lower price than Cousins will command. Plus, they blew it with Cousins creating a very negative atmosphere.

Seems that DC should draft a QB this year or next just to have someone developing behind Smith. But every team needs to think about this so...no big deal. I even believe the 9ers need to make up their minds with Beathards...is he their backup going forward or do they find someone with more upside?

Revisionist history to excuse Alex and the offense. They got the ball for the first time in the 2nd half up by 11 points. I dont care if we are talking about the 85 Bears or the 00 Ravens. An 11 point halftime lead is not something that should ever be considered "a huge lead."

Looks about right. At this point I like Alex over Goff, though

Media and fans (me included) always talk about the lack of competent QB play, but that list is nice. Shows a lot of talent in that top 10, and even the back end isn't horrendous (relatively speaking).

This list is fun, but trying to rate young QBs who have had such limited experience seems foolhardy...which I am as well. Prescott is with a really good offense so he has a step up but he's made the most of it I believe...really like him. Winston is really talented but will he be able to max out that talent? Wentz seems too high and Garoppolo too low if you are going on NFL games played and not college or some other value. So much depends on the team around them and coaching...hard to tell which will rise and which will fall over the next few years.

Half time score was 21-3. Guess when you go over your second half plans?

Plans change as the game progresses. To blame the score for the lack of offense is ridiculous.

To suggest Reid has no history of being overly conservative with a lead is ridiculous!

Exactly this.

We should make clear that game planning and in game decisions are not the same thing. Reid has the tendency to protect a lead by using short passes (part of his usual game) and running more. In the playoffs that very often backfires, as Shanahan learned in the SB last year. Your failure to acknowledge this really surprises me.

I don't value Prescott, Winston, Goff and the other younger QB's very high. Even Cam, I don't value him very high. These guys get everything designed around them to their strengths but come playoff time, they aren't able to keep defenses on their heels once the playoff caliber DC's design a strong game plan to force these QB's to do more than the weekly install. Then they crumble as they have done.

Cam made it the Super Bowl but he isn't necessarily developing new skills to attack defenses in different ways either.

I don't know where Jimmy G should be yet due to the limited amount of games played.

But I think Wentz is to high. His completion % isn't that great, but he does move the ball down the field. And to put Eli in bottom tier is kinda laughable.

It's awkward because they were describing how they met under a setup by a mutual friend. That in itself is awkward.

I'm surprised they even willing to talked about that in somewhat details. Can't underestimate the cheesiness of 2 people meeting under what they deemed to be romantic situations. Even Alex realized how cheesy he was with his proposal lol 😂

Most couple go through that. That conversation is usually reserved for family and kids who want to know how their parents met. Stupid and funny.

look at the spacing between the two. they look sooo close. or she was just a gold-digger. at the time. lol.

wifexcuses now

Wentz was gonna win MVP before he got injured, so i think he's just fine where he is. Eli, right now, is bad. he's not a good QB anymore.

This. Wentz is a flat out stud.
