Be 100% football teammate when you are simply chilling in the locker room talking about bbq recipes and making hangout plans, but don't reveal s**t when it comes to business.

Once the Chiefs traded for Mahomes and gave up 2 1st round picks, Alex was on a rapidly escalating countdown. His time in KC was over, sooner rather than later, regardless of what he did.

If he maintained his early production unlikely he is traded. But alas, he regressed to the curve as many do.
Dude got paid... Im as homer as they come and I think Wash overpaid but its obvious hes done something right.Originally posted by sacniner:Originally posted by Young2Rice:Originally posted by Phoenix49ers:Originally posted by Joecool:If Alex wanted to stay on one team for the long haul, he should have not helped the backup so much. In regards to Alex being "too good of a teammate." I think that worked out for him, seeing as he got overpaid. I think he played his cards right. That's for damn sho...

Yeah, but if he told the chiefs he wouldn't sign there not sure if they would wanna franchise him or give up a bunch of compensation. They probably want someone committed to their program as opposed to a disgruntled guy?
I don't get why people on here take alex so personal. Personal hate. It's odd to me. Fools were half chubb thinking he would get shipped to lowly Cleveland

I think once John Dorsey left, the Chiefs began looking down the road and at their salary cap and realized they could accomplish two goals at the same time: draft their future QB and solve their cap problem when that QB became capable of doing at least an adequate job.
If the Chiefs had not been able to land Mahomes, or if Mahomes were not considered ready, KC would have been in big-time trouble with the cap. They were $8M OVER the cap until the Smith trade. That is BIG-TIME TROUBLE.
