Didn't think my post would be controversial, and is not a post designed to create frenzy. If anyone disagrees, I would love to hear why

QB play hasn't fallen off. Keenum was awful against the Bears, Alex was awful against the Saints in game 4. The problem for them is that the defense and run game they rode in the first half of last year is non existent.

The Redskins only won last year when the defense held the opponent under 20 points and the offense rushed for over 100 yds. Every time the opponent scored 20 points, or the offense didn't rush for 100 yds, they lost because their passing game was terrible.

The Redskins have yet to rush for 100 yds or hold their opponent under 20 points. Based on the fact that Alex couldn't win a game under those circumstances, he too would be 0-3.

Raise your hand if this fervor shocks you.

Yes. It's triggered crap. I've edited the rest. Keep defending the indefensible and your credibility will dwindle.

This wasnt me defending anyone. This is me asking if you want to participate in discussing the topic of the thread. You cant play moral authority one minute and then post something like that the next dude.

Let stay on topic, shall we?

Agree to disagree yet again.

Topic: with Smith at QB this year the Skins are a better team.

One post.

Four pages of venom.
The pro and anti fervor is equally strong and odd.

I like Alex but he wasn't all that good or bad here.

Case Keenum Redskin record when opponent scores 20+ points, and offense is held under 100 yds rushing — 0-3

Alex Smith Redskin record when opponent scores 20+ points, and offense is held under 100 yds rushing — 0-3

Wsh's d has regressed to 26th. Last year Alex was responsible for the wins because he played turnover free and well enough which his backups couldn't do. But Keenum can do that. They just can't play any d or run the ball anymore.

Keenum is way better than Smith... Smith couldn't sniff Washington's practice squad this year. Keenum and Haskins? No way. Smith was lucky to even start an NFL game. He is 0-11 in games where he gets less than 300 yards rushing, and the defense allows less than 2 points

The only reason Smith has won any games in his career was because of the run game and defense. And when he left SF and Wash, the same personnel at RB and defense start playing a lot worse. He just gets lucky.

Shaun Hill was way better than him

Alex Smith winning percentage as 49er starter: .506

Shaun Hill winning percentage as 49er starter: .625

The post that started 4 pages of frenzy.

When one of my kids does something to annoy the other or which is designed get under the other's skin, my wife and I tell them to ignore their sibling and not take the bait.

tl; dr: Not every post needs a counter post and it is ok to ignore things one disagrees with, including posts of those that just might like a player more than you do.

you're so full of s**t lol
All I care about with Alex Smith is whether he will ever be able to play again after nearly losing his leg. Everything else is in the past.

I said Hill is better than him. Cody Pickett also

On a side note, you have strongly stated multiple times that you don't factor in wins/losses when assessing QBs. You stated this when others bring up Smith's record as a starter, especially after he became a decent QB (took a while). Now you're comparing Hill/Smith using winning percentages.

No need to do that. Let's just agree that Smith was probably the worst QB in Niner history... hell, Ken Dorsey was better

Kind sir, good post but this may set off a frenzy of posts on how Ryan Fitzpatrick is way better than Smith, especially when their respective defenses don't give up more than 25.6 ppg

he was validating your serious claim about Shaun Hill being way better than Alex Smith. he was backing up your very serious claim with facts. weird how people backtrack.
This thread has run its course. With no new news of Smith, and all past history having been re-hashed ad nauseum, it is time for Washington Redskin discussion to take place in the NFL News thread. If there are updates on Smith's condition, it can happen there.
