Just saw the replay of both Championship games and they were better the second time around. Belichick won the game with the first two scores, he is a master when it comes to scheming a game plan. I get the impression he'll make Goff look like a beginner in his first SuperBowl. If it's possible the Pats look more hungry than in past Super Bowls,

Enough of the snark both of you. Statistics intentionally used without context amounts to trolling/inciting.

it's funny how you want everybody to write a 10 page thesis when saying anything negative about your boy. it's getting old...

people are allowed to joke around on a forum about two former qbs who are pretty much irrelevant.

Lol
Definitely put himself into the elite class with Brady, Brees and Rogers.
Kap was never elite, not even close. He never had more than 25 TDs (passing and rushing combined) in a season, Mahomes had 52 TDs this year. There are few similarities in their style of play IMO.
This. Don't even try and compare Mahomes and Kap. That's ludicrous. Not even close to the same level. One is elite the other a borderline backup
for real. two different players. the league caught on to Kap because of his running ability. when they turned him into a passer he sucked. Pat's issues aren't his passing lol.

Hyperbole.
The use of stats is always problematic without context and narrative. You know that. It has been discussed in many threads outside of this one.
As to my above comment, I should have said "all of you" instead of "both of you." It applies to everyone.

He was in the playoffs for about five times or so.Originally posted by TheGore49er:Originally posted by communist:Alex made the playoffs with inferior weapons several times.Originally posted by TheWooLick:Originally posted by dj43:Originally posted by SunDevilNiner79:Sammy was basically given up by 2 teams
Hill and Kelce are both legit great weapons. But Patriots shut both down and Mahomes still had an outstanding game.
Why do people keep acting like Chiefs are insanely stacked. Mahomes has 2 great players, and both were shutdown
Also huge game by Sorensen, game of his life.
Without Watkins tonight the Chiefs lose in regulation by two touchdowns.
Without Mahomes they don't make the playoffs.
Mahomes is better than Alex and Jimmy G.
and won a whopping 2 games in his 13 year career.

I think his only weakness right now is just being young and inexperienced. The coaching staff isn't letting him check out of plays yet, which is understandable, but that cost them the game. There were a couple times where Romo pointed out that he should've killed that play, like Brady does/did, but he didn't. So the big question will be can he turn into a *coach* on the field, like Brees, Rodgers, Brady, etc. If he develops into that, then he will be elite until he decides to retire. His arm strength, accuracy, ability to improvise, that's not gonna go away.

Lol, no you don't. The run opens up the pass and vice versa.Originally posted by rathman4481:You throw 50 tds when you have no run game.
If your running game is underperforming, you have to be very good at passing, like Manning with the Colts or Brees (pre-Kamera). And yes, it's not only about elite QBs but also elite receivers as well.

true. if only he had elite defenses, a HOF RB, a couple of great TEs and WRs he probably could've done more. sadly, we'll never know what Alex could've done if he had weapons like Pat, or a great defense / run game like Kap had with the 49ers.

What a bunch of Alex loving Mahomes haters in this thread.
Let me break it down for you ppl.
32 out of 32 executives would take Mahomes over Jimmy G, Alex Smith and every single QB in the league if they were starting a franchise today. No, they would not start a franchise with a 41-year-old Brady or Brees or Rodgers.
No one, not even Shanahan believes Jimmy G is better than Mahomes. Only *special* people would think Jimmy G does anything better than Mahomes. Mahomes from inside the pocket and outside played better over 16 games than Jimmy G has ever played.
and just like the Bills, and Bears we could have drafted the kid.........so why hate on him? How can you hate on a player that could have easily been wearing red and gold? I get hating on Brady or Brees since we never were close to either of them. But we literally less than 3 years ago had the perfect shot at drafting this kid and will forever be regretful as his career moves forward.
And btw I love me some Jimmy G. But I refuse to become blind to the fact that Mahomes was literally the best QB in the league since Peyton Manning in 2013 and since Brady in 2007. That puts his 2018 season as the second best by a QB OF ALL FKN TIME PEOPLE!! IN HIS FIRST YEAR STARTING!!! JFC how daft are some of you??
/end rant

No surprise. Chiefs fans have been calling for his head for three years.
The historical collapse against Indy, though injuries played a big part, began the ball rolling. The failure to stop Tennessee's run game last year was more fuel for the fire. Just no excuse for a very rested defense to allow a back-up running back to take over the game.
This year the defense was also a problem but masked by the offense being on fire all year long.
Part of the blame goes all the way back to some very bad contracts that John Dorsey negotiated before he left. He left the Chiefs in salary cap hell with no money having been spent on defense. Hali and Johnson got old. No money for Poe.
Reid gets part of the blame for not insisting on more focus on defense but it is easier to scapegoat Sutton than the offensive genius who created Kelce, Hill and Mahomes.
