IDK, I listened to the recording made by the child's mother. To paraphrase:
Mother - "He is terrorised of you" …
Hill - "You should be terrorised of me too" (followed by the B' word)
And that's just a small sample of what I heard … yet enough for me
My Dad was tough on me. - albeit mostly the fear of God by verbal threats -
But never when I did something wrong at 3 years old, did I have to open my
arms and expose my chest to his punches … WTF !
Espinal: "And now somehow this investigation got brought back up, and you're about to lose your s***. So now I really want you to sit and think about it because I rode for you against that detective and the CPS people. And they said time and time again that (---) literally, (---) kept saying, 'Daddy punches me.' Which you do when he starts crying. What do you do? You make him open his arms and you punch him in the chest. And then if he gets in trouble you get the belt out."
Hill: "Ok, so what about you? What are you gonna do?"
Espinal: "I told them that he gets whooped. I told them that he gets whooped, but I don't use a belt. Which is totally different."
Hill: "You do use a belt, and that's sad. Even my momma says you use a belt."
Espinal: "When have I used a belt? When have you seen me use a belt with (---)?"
At another point during the recording, Hill denies hurting his child during the incidents in question but later makes a threatening statement to Espinal.
"He is terrified of you," Espinal is heard saying, to which Hill replies, "You need to be terrified of me too, b****. That's why you can't keep a f***** man."
That's the entire transcript according to 247sports.
Hill did not confess anything. Nothing was said about how hard he punched him or spanked him. So basically, you have a tape of someone else accusing Hill of something that you can only make assumptions about. Please explain why this necessitates termination instead of a suspension until some kind of clarity is provided? Remember, there are no injuries on this child as far as we know and you're also impacting that child's life in a huge way (including financial) if you're even remotely wrong.
