They are really feeling the loss of Hunt now. They can't run the ball (part of that is on Andy falling in love with Mahomes and refusing to stick with the run). Combine that with their WRs being in and out of the lineup, and it's starting to take it's toll. Mahomes still looks like a great QB, but it's not the god-mode type stuff we see when the offense is healthy and able to run the ball.

Mahomes and Reid love to strike quick and score a lot of points. Sounds like Chip Kelly. Problem is it puts the defense back on the field really quickly especially now that they don't have all their weapons. Those 3 and outs kill teams like that.

The bigger problem is the defense that can't stop the run. They are giving up an average of 190 yards rushing over the last 5 games. They allowed a 100 yard rusher in 4 of the last 5 games. The frustration for Mahomes is starting to show as he sits on the sideline and watches.

The funny thing about this running the ball issue is the fact that Damien Williams IS a good running back. In the three games he started at the end of last season, plus one of the two playoff games, he was averaging at least 4.5 yards per carry. He has been a little banged up this year, but he is still good.

Williams is good but nothing like the all-around threat of Hunt.

It is also apparent that the OL injuries have taken a toll as well.
