As we see every year, the overall health of a team is a critical component.

As to the Chiefs specifically; much of the talk in KC is that it will be up to the defense as to how far they will go. Nothing new there.

I mean....The Chiefs last 5 playoff games, they held their opponents to an average of 22.4ppg, and that number is heavily inflated by a 45 point performance in 2013.

The Chiefs defense has not been the problem, nor is it what determined how far they went. They gave up 18 points and 22 points the last 2 playoff games they played, and both were losses. The defense has not been the problem.
I wanted Mahomes in the draft so bad. I just knew he was a special talent and his 1st game as a starter is showing evidence of that. He should be exciting to watch for years. Thankfully he's in the AFC.
Stud. His gunslinger mentality will do service to all that talent they have.

I don't know how talented Mahomes will prove to be in the NFL, but there is no denying that the strength of his arm is a perfect complement for the talent of Tyreek Hill. It reminds me of the Stafford Johnson combo.

I should have put "nothing new here" in a new paragraph. Playoff teams need to stay healthy if they are to win. "Nothing new here."

The Chiefs have had very poor luck with injuries in playoff games going back to the Indy game.

Foles was hardly the equivalent of a Keith Reaser starting.
Gonna be a fun season watching Chiefs

Wildcard?

The defense was largely to blame in the Tennessee game. They came out well rested from half time and gave up a 9 minute drive in which a 2nd string RB went through them like water through a hose. Of course it is fair to mention that Dee Ford was not available, Hali should have had a cane, Johnson should have been in a rocking chair...but there was no one else who could play.

All water under the bridge...

The Chiefs scored 0 points in the 2nd half.

The Chiefs had 56 total offensive yards in the 2nd half.

The Chiefs had 4 first downs in the 2nd half, 3 of which were on the last drive of the game, netting 29 total yards and turning it over on downs.

The offense was more at fault than the defense. They literally just needed to convert a few third downs, and they would have won the game.
Another smith thread? Lol
I'm glad that my personal top 2 qbs in their draft (mahomes and watson) look solid so far. Obviously its only one game for mahomes and i think he has some kap syndrome where all he wants to do is rocket the ball, I think he is less stiff so he could probably learn how to pass with touch.

And Foles played lights out. Its not like he was Ryan Lindley out there.
49ers vs Chiefs is going to be a shootout
In the Alex thread awhile back there was a bet that Hill wouldn't match his #'s from last year. 1 week in oh boy. Best deep ball receiver with Mahomes rocket arm. Someone didn't think thru.
