When everyone is expecting something, it usually means the opposite

Such a loaded offense. I saw a stat on ESPN that the Mahomes has only thrown 9% of his passes into tight coverage, that basically shows that they are just open at all times, but he's finding them.

Myself and Charlie tried showing this type of statistic last season with the Chiefs and it was met with criticism and dismissal.

too many freaks on that offense, and they are used right. i saw one of their plays on twitter (i'll try finding it again) Hill was in the slot to the right of the QB, Kelce lined up as a TE to the right of the QB, and Sammy lined up as a the Z. Sammy runs a go route, Hill ran a inside post route, and Kelce ran a underneath route, and all 3 were wide open lol, Hill caught like a 20 yard pass with 10 more YAC

even if one of them had to get doubled, one was gonna be open, you can't keep up with Hills speed or even Watkins, and Kelce is faster than most LBs.

Are all of the skill position players the same this year? Are the same defenses playing 2018 games 1 and 2 as in 2017 games 1-16?

That said, if people were arguing that the prior quarterback (who, IIRC, played lights out during weeks 1 and 2 2017) is NOT risk averse, I would take issue with such a position.

Isn't the only new player Watkins? Who was a bum the past 2 years (averaged 44 yards per game played)

He's new. And really talented when healthy. Are there others?
Greg Cosell was on the radio earlier today saying how part of the reason Mahomes look so good against the Steelers was because Pittsburg played absolutely horrific defense the whole game. Like literally just running around not covering anybody or staying in their assignments. That's not to say Mahomes isn't a great young QB, but he was quick to point out that the Steelers D was just letting him do whatever he wanted and barely put up a fight.

I saw that. Terrible defense by them. That being said... I think they move the ball up and down the field against us.

Bolded....True or false...

You could replace the name Mahomes with Stafford and replace the word Steelers with 49ers, and the paragraph would still make sense.

You know the answer. I hope our boys come ready to play, because if we got shredded by the Lions we could very easily get lit up against this offense. And I fully expect Sherman to struggle with Hill. He struggled with shifty little burner receivers even in his prime.

With Hill, Kelce, Hunt, Maclin and a strong armed qb I can see how that happens.

Oh I agree Kelce was running free on seaming routes all damn day. They had Watt matched up vs Watkins on a vert route and missed tackles all over the place. Artie Burns was abused all day

In general after two games, defenses as a whole are tackling like trash (definitely has something to do with the new rules). Big Ben put up a ton of numbers, but overall was very inaccurate.

That said Mahomes is a stud so far (I was wrong)....it helps that he sat a whole yr because he wasn't ready to play last yr. Some people complain about SF not taking him (captain hindsight), but how pissed would people have been watching Hoyer/CJ all yr lol? They would have called Mahomes a bust and we know who would have said it

Maclin isn't in KC anymore....he's a FA currently. I think you meant Watkins

SF didn't get "shredded" by the lions until the 4th QR when our DC made some weird calls and the D basically played not to lose.

Pitt got shredded right out of the gate and all game. They didn't make any adjustments and they looked lost out there. KC's first 3rd down play didn't even happen until the TD to Hunt. I expect SF to shade whatever side Hill is on regards of who is covering him.

Colbert has to show up this game, we can't miss a f**k ton of tackles and we need to control the clock. I'm not feeling to good about this game
