Pat Mahomes and the Kansas City Swifties Thread

Just a reminder for those who may be confused...this thread is about Mahomes and the Chiefs.

That having been said, Mahomes did give Smith props for being very unselfish in helping him learn his craft. Beyond that, let's keep this to the topic.

Mohomes is absolutely a stud. I watched him myself today, and he is one of the best QB's in the NFL right now, and he's only going to get better. If he had any sort of defense in KC, I'd pick them to go far in the AFC playoffs. I love our QB Jared Goff, but Mahomes is better. We don't need a Mahomes to win in LA, and Jared will do just great for us....But Mahomes is a freakin' Natural QB. It will be fun to watch him grow in the NFL.

At the time, just about every NFL pundit had Thomas as a top 5 pick. The same guys thought KC gave up too much to move up to draft Mahomes.

This Mohomes kid is good, really good. I feel we need to pump the brakes a little bit though. We have seen this time and time again where a new QB gets off to an amazing start only to fizzle out or I (hate saying this btw) "regress to the mean". If he leads the chiefs to a super bowl win I will give him even more props. Remember they were already a playoff team last year with Alex Smith at the helm, so naturally a super bowl appearance would be the next step.

Agree. He hasn't played any of the better defenses in the league. The 49ers secondary is certainly not great. The Steelers without Shazier are not very good, plus they had some starters dinged for that game. LAC was not healthy for that first game. Let's see what happens at the halfway mark. As you said, the Chiefs were good last season and at this point in the year, Alex Smith was in the MVP conversation. Hence, it shouldn't surprise anyone that Mahomes is doing well.

Bottom line; KC is loaded with weapons. Adding Watkins to an already scary crew puts them at a level with some of the great 49er teams of the past.

I still am not impressed. Hasn't looked good when first option isn't available. Hasn't been pressured. Not enough tape on him. It's 3 games.
