Yeah, that was an entertaining game. Willow really turned himself into a high level starting qb. Kept his head down, grinded and became a legit franchise qb.

I thought we had our guy also. Damn, makes me sad

Yah, as much as I dislike Seattle, I have to admit Wilson is playing at an elite level.

Michaels and Collinsworth suggested last night's performance may have put him in the convo for MVP. I still think Brees gets it but going head-to-head against Mahomes and winning can't help but improve his chances.
from what i have seen of mahomes it looks to me like most of his big play productions comes when he is rolling out of the pocket---wouuld he be as good if the defense schemed to keep him in the pocket?

The thing about him rolling out is that it requires DBs to plaster on longer. The longer it goes the more chance for someone to break free.

Keep any QB in the pocket and the DBs have a better chance to cover the receivers. (If you have watched the Chiefs in the past, you will recall that Reid had Smith rolling out a lot as well.)

With all the weapons KC brings, it makes it very tough on any DB if the QB had 5+ seconds to scan the field.

Pathetic how bad this defense is.

All of us who complain about our defense and Saleh? We have it good compared to Chiefs fans in that regard.

The Chiefs possessed the ball for only 24:58 of the game. They are ranked 26th in the NFL this season in time of possession. Makes it hard to have a good defense when you're on the field so much. Scoring fast is great for highlights, not so good for defense.

If you want a good defense, then possess the ball longer and give them a rest.

I assume you are in the Saleh thread saying the same thing? The 49ers on average have the ball for 40 seconds a game longer than the Chiefs do. Yet, almost every Niner fan agrees Salah has been a problem. Maybe if our offense just possessed the ball longer our defensive problems would be solved huh?

The 49ers are ranked 21st in the NFL in TOP, so not much better.

Right. The difference between a "good" time of possession and a bad one is generally like a minute or 2 max. I find it very hard to believe that on average, a defense resting for an additional minute or two would be THE reason the defense has been so pathetic.

Last night was definitely a low TOP for the Chiefs, but I dont believe that is indicative of how their offense has operated all year. It was almost 5 minutes less than their average.

Your point would make much more sense if you were speaking solely about yesterday. On the season, the TOP is definitely not the reason the Chiefs defense is among the worst in the NFL.

Look at the rankings and compare them to the top defenses. There's a clear connection.
I think Chiefs will be one and done in playoffs. They haven't been able to win against elite teams. Lost to Patriots, Rams, Chargers, Seahawks. I know they beat Chargers week 1 (and Steelers week 2) but that's a long time ago. Their best win has been against a red-hot Baltimore.

Kaep was a pitcher as well but he never elevated his accuracy game.

Kurt Warner tried and failed.

Despite efforts, his elongated pitching motion never changed.
So is the prototype QB and accurate baseball pitcher with speed?

Wilson hasn't gotten fat yet like alot of hyped up scrambling QBs so he still is fast.

Accurate and can scramble.

Mahomes is accurate and has a quick shortstop like motion.

Hmm.

Can't remember but weren't the pats, Rams, obviously 1 chargers game and the Seattle game all road games?

If they were that makes a difference I think. If they get a home playoff game I think they win it.

Chiefs haven't won a home playoff game since 1994

Its all connected. Defenses forcing quick 3 and outs help just as much as offenses having long drives.

Running games help as well. The Ravens are averaging more rushing attempts than almost any team in NFL history. That is a reason they are at the top of TOP, just like having a dominant defense is.

Furlows original claim that Mahomes scoring so fast hurts the defense is ridiculous. Like I said, he difference between being ranked low in TOP versus high is roughly around a minute of TOP. There is no way that one extra minute of rest is going to turn a bottom defense into a respecatble one.
