If they're just bringing in a RB for a game or two and cutting him, I'd rather they get a free agent than bringing in Wilson and possibly cutting him again.

Agree. He's a good change up from Breida and Mostert - who are speed guys. I'd love for Jeff Wilson to develop into Roger Craig 2.0.
Yes, Mostert is a speed guy (fastest of the RB), but he is also the most physical of the RBs. He's a good blocker and pass protector, a dynamite tackler as the gunner, and he's a very tough runner who runs downhill and is tough to bring down. Plus, his straight arm looked like a Mike Tyson haymaker. The idea of trading Breida, making Mostert #1 and Wilson temporarily #2, and bring in whoever we get to replace Breida would be fine with me. He's a great little runner but is really fragile and not reliable. I think Mostert would bring some stability and consistency to the position

IF we trade Breida, Wilson will not be brought for just a game here and there.. he can be the backup while Coleman gets healthy... and when or/if Coleman gets healthy, Wilson can be THAT 3rd stringer..

Yea we could get a good lineman for Breida.... did u guys see new englands back ups dominate pittsburghs d line last night? N.e has too many rbs though but we need some linemen cuz our line might be our downfall this year.Originally posted by 9moon:Originally posted by btthepunk:If they're just bringing in a RB for a game or two and cutting him, I'd rather they get a free agent than bringing in Wilson and possibly cutting him again.

You don't trade your most talented RB with McKinnon on IRL and Coleman with a high ankle sprain. Yes, Mostert's got a lot of speed & talent, but he's unproven as a full-time RB. So is Wilson. Breida's not going anywhere.

I don't think Breida could get us any noticeable improvement on the OL unless we're throwing in a 2nd or 3rd.

Ok do it, let me know when it gets done.
Being down a running back now tells me we are in no spot to make a trade.. if that happens at all... when coleman comes back.
Agree CC, I'd wait and I wouldn't trade any RB's until the season is over. Breida's speed and Mostert's speed are priceless in this particular scheme. Coleman got injured in the first play of the game (so says Kyle) and both Mostert and Brieda were able to churn out yardage against Vita and Suh. It's hard to find speed guys that have some shake and bake to them like Breida and Mostert. It's a long 16 game season and possibly longer if the 49ers have a playoff shot - you need a lot of speed on running back squad to make this offense really go.

Yeah man, Brieda starts and Mostert backsup while Coleman is out. It isn't rocket science. It's the obvious solution

not sure if you're against the idea or for the idea.
please feel free to share us your opinion..
it is a FORUM
How many fumbles/game should Kyle tolerate from wilson Before he should cut him?
Wilson looked pretty pedestrian, however, I wouldn't even move him to the active roster knowing he fumbles constantly..
Tough enough to win in this league when you have an unexpected fumble from a player who's sure handed, (see Deebo in the Tampa game) Now your gonna stress your team more putting in a running back that constantly fumbles??
We want to win the turn over battle this year, not dig ourselves a black hole again..
Would be a Total mistake bringin wilson up..

WTF? If they give him enough carries Breida will have 1200 yards rushing this year.

I share the same opinion. I think Mostert should be a starter, but he has to be reliable and consistent and hold on to the ball. What gets you faster than lightning into Kyle's dog house is throwing turnovers, fumbling or anything like that. Mostert has RB1A talent, but he has to prove it game in and game out. Out of all our RB's, I think he has the most promise on this offense. If anything can make this offense resemble a hypothetical McKinnon-centric offense, it's Mostert.
