They must feel confident in Mitchell's return.

When Mitchell returns, Wilson was going to become the third string RB. Getting a 5th rounder for an RB3 is just a good deal, especially when we already have two young RBs and Tevin Coleman.

Of course, our view of whether this was a successful trade is dependent on Elijah Mitchell coming back healthy and us having solid health at RB for the remainder of the season.

If we are down to him we probably ain't on a playoff run

That's not true. He could spell McCaffrey like he did last week. Mitchell at this point is an unknown if he will stay healthy. TDP isn't that good yet Coleman is avg

nothing odd about trading a UDFA 3rd string RB for a 5th rd pick

Now watch Mitchell has a setback and CMC gets hurt.

The saving grace will be that we always turn 5th round picks into pro bowlers.

5th round is the money round.

Good for Jeff to become worthy of a trade going from undrafted FA and staying in the NFL past his 2nd contract.

The only part that hurts is this was actually part of a 3 team deal and the Fins also landed Chubb for their pass rush.

Its odd since teams don't normally trade away contributing players during a playoff push. He's the backup too right now and is a solid one. They are betting on Mitchell being healthy and playing well.

I liked Jeff. He was always dependable later in his time here. Good to see we took care of him and set him up for success in Miami. Him and mostert will be reunited again and he goes to a familiar system. I like this move for sure and we get something for an UDFA. Win win

Wilson is worth more in Miami than he would be in some other schemes.
I wouldn't have made this trade, but at least we got another money round pick I guess.
Good luck to you Jeff Wilson. What's your favorite Wilson moment? I'll always remember that late TD vs. The Cards where we beat that 0 blitz.

Seeing the news today
So does CMC get his number back in 2 weeks? His insta account is 22
if true, it seems JWJr had concerns about his (possible lack of) usage in his contract year

Would cost CMC a fortune

no. after player has appeared in a game with a number, he must wear that number for the rest of the season.

I see this it is one of the reasons I listed prior. Do right by your guys. With CMC here and Mitch on the mend his path to play time is limited. Let him play and get a pick also.
