To further combat the "down year" talk, he currently leads Clemson in both sacks and TFLs. He'd have more sacks, but they've played 3 option teams in the first 8 games.

He does well to get his hips and feet towards the passer when running the arc, but doesnt display great ankle or hip flexion. He fires off the line with great forward lean, but his quick get off is probably heavily attributed to snap jumping. I dont think he will test bad, but certainly far from elite. He wins with size, strength, hands, nuance, football IQ

I see. That's a good explanation, thanks

Basically this...I don't see him having a great 3-cone, 10-yard split, 20 yard etc...not a horrible thing he wins with other things (like Adrian stated) still like him, just saying he's not gonna blow up the combine.

He looks like a good player, but not a great player. I'm thinking Josh Allen might be a better pass rusher...

I am more concerned with game results than 3 cone drills and hip hip flex. Trouble is it is sometimes hard to compare guys that are playing different teams, facing different guys and playing alongside different players. Example: Look how much better Aldon Smith was when he played along side of Justin.

Those numbers matter in the grand scheme of a players ceiling. If you're not a top athlete you'd better be technically sound. Ferrell has improved in that area.
I like Burns a lot he just needs to get bigger

I still think, at this point, Ferrell is ER2 when it is all said and done.

I think you're right.
And I 100% agree with your assessment. Ferrell=Suggs for me.

If he is healthy as a pro, he'll be playing well into his 30s with his skillset.
