Bosa was also a part timer as Meyer elected to go with veteran starters. His productivity per snap was among the highest in college football.
I have no idea what this means. The last few DEs from similar top Clemson defenses have been busts or disappointing players in the NFL. Their college success was clearly meaningless when it came to determining their pro success.
Ferrell projects out to potentially being a good DE in the NFL. Bosa like his brother before him projects out to an All Pro level ceiling. On a team short on true star level players, he appears to be exactly what they need.

A lot of those guys came from under different coaches and regimes. Lately they've been putting out quality WRs with Woids and JJSS. Ferrell is coming from the same coach and system as Lawson, Dodd...etc. He might even turn out to be a fine DE but if you're sitting at #1, you don't pass up on Bosa to go after a guy who has a much lower ceiling.
When you're a bad team, you need as much superstar level potential as you can get. If this team sucked all year to wind up with the #1 pick only for Lynch to go Baalke mode and trade down and it turns out that they ended up missing on a future All Pro, not only would this site go down, people might burn the stadium down.

But my sleeper favorite pick would be Brian Burns,He`s a complete ER and coverage guy plus he plays the run really well it just something about that guy has something special about Him I wuold say picks 5-10

I mean if we don't land Bosa, trading back and taking this kid is a definite possibility.

I'd take both Allen and Polite before him

B2B 1st team AP All American
Clemson's Clelin Ferrell named first-team AP All-American for second straight year. Just the second Clemson player and first since Terry Kinard (1981-82) to be a two time first-team AP selection.

Any time I see the trade down argument, I always have to ask. Who are we trading down with? What kind of compensation specifically would be acceptable, and who is the targetted player after the move?

He's a good trade up candidate if we somehow don't take an edge rusher with our first pick.
I think about the extent of his involvement with our draft.

Agree Phoenix!
We do not have one Impact player on the D side of the ball.
We have some good players but not one difference maker.
We desperately need an Impact guy not a few more good players.

Not necessarily saying he plays the same way, but I get the feeling he will be the 2019 version of Derek Barnett.

Yo, this is one of the nastiest rushes by anyone in the class. Beautiful stab+forklift. Ferrell uses a subtle slingshot technique with his left hand to replace the tackle's hip.

Ferrell is my favorite edge rusher not named Bosa. I think the argument that previous Clemson DE are busts so this guy must be too is crap.He has a variety of pass rush moves and he plays the run well with having 47 tackles and 17 Tackles for loss. With Ferrell on the outside and Buckner collapsing the inside the D could take a huge leap next season. If we could trade down a couple picks and still land him and pick up at least another 2nd rounder I would be happy.

I like Ferrell, but only in the #3 to #5 range.
