First team AA for the second year in a row, 14.5 sacks, named his conference's DPOY, anchoring a defense going back to the national championship game at 14-0. Man, some of you guys are just looking for unicorns that don't exist.
It's also a hell of a luxury playing next to Wilkins and Lawrence. He's a solid player, but he just doesn't appear to be a guy that's going to thrive in the NFL.
I think he's a safe pick. I just don't think he's a top-10 guy like he's be projected. He's just too slow to beat OTs regularly. Regardless, he's not LEO material.

He has a stacked defense around him. People struggle with the amount of DLine busts from Clemson (Beasley had one good season). I'd take Bosa and QW over him and probably Josh Allen.
He does have an impressive career at Clemson and can become solid in the NFL. Everyone wants the All Pro and it's tough seeing that type of ceiling on this kid.
No way on this guy. He's too slow. We have enough slow people in defense. We need explosive playmakers.
Watched him today and was disappointed. He's good nothing special.

I just find it weird that people are somehow coming away underwhelmed after yesterday's game. He had a sack and forced a fumble that he recovered that led to points, and they held Notre Dame to 3 points. Dexter Lawrence didn't play yesterday, and Ferrell was in the backfield all day and helped pressure Book for what felt like the whole game while disrupting any rhythm. I saw someone question if the stage was too big for him yesterday, and it's like WTF are you talking about? He had a sack and a separate strip/fumble recovery and dominated ND's offense. The dude is going to his third national title game, so I don't think the stage is too big for him. It's all he's ever known while playing at Clemson.
I'm not even saying that he's a slam dunk NFL stud more than some of the other guys mentioned in this thread, but basically none of those guys has ever played on the same stage as Clemson has consistently the last four seasons, and it seems like people are just making things up to be concerned about with Ferrell. He's a great player who has maintained his great play for multiple seasons going back to when he was the Fiesta Bowl MVP when Clemson shut out Ohio State 31-0 en route to the 2016 natty when he was only a sophomore.

TBH, I respect that you're a sensible homer and don't get defensive or spaz out when people are critical of Clemson players.

I do go for "sensible homer" haha. And like I said, I'm not suggesting he's a slam dunk NFL stud. I just question some of the criticism that I've seen people in this thread throw his way. Some of it is legit as far as him not being a pure speed rusher, but some of the other things I've seen mentioned are off base. I'm honestly not sure which one of the front four will wind up being the best NFL prospect. I tend to lean to one of the inside guys in Lawrence/Wilkins.

I think Wilkins is the best player on that Dline. It's a talented group for sure.

Nice post! I truly believe that the biggest knock on him is that he plays for Clemson. A school known for great Dline prospects that are underwhelming in the NFL.

Really like this post. I have no hate for Ferrell, he has a high level of skill, and flashes the ability to win at the next level. It does worry me that he only seems to win outside when jumpig the snap count, I'm not sure he's what we're looking for.

Agree
Anyone else think Jonah Williams will shut him down in the championship game? I have a feeling that he's in for a long night.
I still like him a ton if he were available later in the first and we could trade back up using our second rounder. Not sure he falls out of the top 15 though.

ND has a real good oline, which he didn't have a problem with. He had a good game.

He shut him down last time they played....I think this game is big for Ferrell. I'll be watching that matchup all game.
