This guy is a great player that doesn't get love around here because he's not a flashy pass rusher with a lot of bend like a Josh Allen( who I like) and with the second pick of the draft everyone wants a superstar. The issue is, after Bosa there is a drop off in outside pass rusher talent and none of the rest appear to be worth the second pick. IMO of the outside pass rushers that will be available if Bosa is gone, Clelin Ferrell is most complete, well rounded player, then comes Zach Allen. All the other guys are situational pass rushers.

Let's get a situational pass rusher then. We have enough complete guys. Run D = fine. Pass rush is trash. We need a QB killer, not an edge setter.

Ferrell pass rush numbers are comparable to all the situational rushers. He can just set the edge as well.

Well, if he will drop to the second round that would be great.

Great article. Ferrell and Jonah had an epic battle with both players demonstrating why they'll be high first-round picks in April. Three things I took away from their matchup:
-Ferrell is the best edge player in the draft after Bosa at managing distance. Dude is excellent at using his length to establish control and initiate contact.
-Ferrell is one mean, nasty SOB Having that big dog mentality is a massively advantageous intangible.
-Ferrell's lack of bend leaves production on field. If only he had just a little more bend, he would've collected because he beat Jonah cleanly many times. Jonah also deserves props for his ability to recover. Dude is damn good at reestablishing his hands inside, moving feet and rolling his hips.
Overall, I thought Ferrell was superb. Dude's stock definitely went up in my book.
Love this is nasty little inside club-swim. Great timing with his club. I love edge players that understand the importance of marrying the hands and feet. I'm also a sucker for the stutter setup. It causes many tackles to freeze their feet and shoot their hands.

I'm torn on him, he's a great player all around but with who he played with I'd expect higher sack numbers, as of now I have Allen and Polite ahead of him as for rushing the passer, which this team needs most, and of course Bosa..

As pure pass rushers go, I'd say it's Bosa, Burns, and Ferrell. Josh Allen can certainly change things at the Senior Bowl. I have him #4 right now.

I don't know what happened, but I was really high on Farrell at first - I guess his prior ACL tear has knocked him down a couple of pegs for me.

I like Ferrell more then Burns but to me they are both behind Allen and Polite, but not far, I can't remember a better pass rushing class then this one as far as prospects go tho

That clip illustrates my issue with him. He does some things so nice, but he leaves so much to be desired. If only he had the legs/ short area quickness to explode towards the QB and complete the rush.
I just feel he's going to be one of those guys that ranks up there in pressures, but never translates them to sacks and production. That's exactly who Armstead is and it's so frustrating. Similarly, that's why I was so down on Davenport last year. I really want to see more finishers out there.... guys that attack the ball and cause turnovers. That's what we need.

We could take two pass rushers in the first two rounds. Might be able to grab the other Clemson DE Austin Bryant who is a man child himself with the second rounder. He might be a first rounder, too, though with a strong combine.
