Even though he completely guessed the snap count? Better hope he never plays against Aaron Rodgers!

Why? He doesn't look explosive at all in that clip. He just timed the snap count and started moving before everyone else. Clark showed a lot more explosiveness. Neither one showed much ability to bend. Ferrell does a better job keeping the OLineman's hands off him but Clark is up against an NFL LT.

20 mins worth of film

Obviously, we all know who is Clark is, and how good of a player he is. But if they were both prospects, and this was the only clip I had to evaluate both off of (as we are only comparing the quality or impressiveness of each individual rep), I think that Clark's rep shows in what ways he may potentially lose in NFL, where as Ferrels shows in what ways he may potentially win in the NFL.

Clark displays elite explosiveness, but the lack of flexibility to capitalize.

Ferrel shows a relative lack of explosion, but the effective snap count, adequate burst, nuance, balance through contact, hand fighting, and ability to get his hips and toes pointed towards the quarterback, to compensate.

You are correct tho that the quality of LT does have to be taken into consideration, but I was more looking at how the defensive player performed, irregardless of the offensive player (which is admittedly not a fool proof way to "scout").

It is SOOOOO much harder to jump the snap count without getting caught offside in the NFL (remember Ahmad Brooks?), so that's a huge negative to me. Clark's rep was sigificantly better, IMO, and I'm a Ferrell fan.

I would take this kid with the #2 overall pick. He might not have Von Miller's bendability, but he knows how to win consistently. I'll take that.

Ferrell and Ferguson were THE 2 MOST CONSISTENT Edge defenders the past 3 years of college. Bosa and Allen are one hit wonders. Bosa last year and Allen this year.

Call me crazy, but I'll say Ferrell will have the better career than Bosa and Allen.

If he lands with us, I would hope he does that kinda s**t when we play in Cheattle (if we're winning)...looking straight at Cheat Carroll
