I think outside of Bosa he's probably the most pro-ready and is a "safe" pick. I don't think his ceiling is very high though. I also think he's much better than the past edge rushers that came out of Clemson.

Ferrell's technique overall is pretty damn good...he wins with his hands, he's strong as s**t, he's got counters, great anticipation, good first step even though he's not a super athlete.

I'd have zero problem taking him in a trade down ( I do think SF is looking for speed off the edge though). Love his attitude as well.

pretty much lol
Thing that worries me most about him is while he did put up good numbers I feel like he should've had great-amazing numbers with the talent he played with on clemsons D-Line..

Could have said the same thing about Chubb last yr.

As i'm sitting here watching him vs A & M. You see the back or TE chipping or both G & T doubling him. So are the other guys better because he is commanding more attention or is he better because he has a loaded D-line?

Judging by the way A & M is blocking him my guess is the former. When they don't Chip or double he's in the backfield almost every time.

Very true
Game film against Texas A&M and Pitt. Notice how all the play go away from Ferrell, he super disruptive and always in the backfield. Teams have to game plan for him

If the 49ers traded down a bit, I wouldn't be mad about him being the pick. I think he'll be a solid, consistent player. Character wise he seems to be the exact type of person that they are going for.
A trade down is a must!
The problem is that we probably couldn't trade down very far and still get him.

I agree... kind of. I like picking up Ferrell on a trade back. But to be honest, assuming that Bosa is gone, no pick at number two really satisfies me. QW seems like the best player available, but he doesn't play a position of need. Josh Allen might be the best pure pass rusher still available, but I'm not sold on him ( not that I couldn't be). I guess I'm saying if it's Ferrell with the number 2 pick of the draft, I'm not thrilled but I'm ok with it. besides Bosa I'm not thrilled no matter who it is.

This very well could be true
wouldnt be upset at all if we take him, plays the run well and looks to be a complete player.
Number 6 overall on my best board. Took a very good OT in Jonah Williams and decimated him. Just a flat out stud player.
