Rather bring back Key.
Key is a known entity. I'm curious as to what is a fair deal for a 3rd down inside rusher.

Kocurek's next revival project? Kid had untapped potential from college. Raiders don't develop players very well. This kid was destined to be great until the Raiders drafted him and stunned his development. Another team's bust could be another team's treasure. L.Tomlinson and A.Key are just a few that comes to mind on bust to good starters for the Niners.
EExactly what I was thinking
This kid could flourish in the wide-nine system
If they sign him, do it for a low cost 2 year deal, just in case he breaks out. Keep the guarantees low to none at all if possible.
Its an old post, but I'm curious what it is that makes that poster think the cure to Ferrell's lack of production is a wider alignment.
Wide 9 allows the rusher more time before the O-linemen gets his hands on you without increasing the distance so much that it becomes a detriment to the rusher's goals. This allows an opportunity to identify, think, set up, gain momentum, etc. Imo there are a ton of benefits to the wide nine and very few negatives which are easily addressed with fast and smart linebackers. I personally don't understand why the Wide 9 isn't used more often throughout the league and imo has a lot to do with why coordinators like Fangio who dislikes the wide 9 aren't even considered when we need a DC.
Also, Ferrell had a pretty good profile coming out of college. Used his hands, good moves, etc. I think Coach K can work very well with that. I think we make the move and hopefully can find another candidate.
