Herbert will be a top 5 qb if he stays healthy. There's also some tackles and DT that will be moving up as well....if they can get some quality picks and still get a sweat or burns im cool with it.

I also expect SF to bring in a pass rusher via FA.
As soon as draft time rolls around there'll be a number of QB's moving up the charts and IMO - that's good for us.

I don't know who the FA edge rushers will be but I'd like us to get both.

Injuries are a way of life in NFL and it seems especially for the Niners.

So, if we get 2 - we'll have an incredible attacking D and if one gets hurt we can still be effective.

I like your thinking and it makes much sense but I'm not sure the niners sign a pass rusher to huge money then use their top pick on one too, the other needs are important too, like I've said I could see them taking one in the 2nd or trading back into the late 1st to grab one of Allen, Sweat, Burns or Polite, expecting Bosa and Ferrell going way earlier..I'd expect 1 to fall

him and bosa...either one is fine
My biggest concern with Ferrell ATM is his athleticism or lack thereof. From what I see on tape, I'm not confident he's going to grade well at the combine. He has stiffness in his lower body and struggles at times with flattening. Not really explosive or bendy. Dude also appears to be carrying some bad weight. I think I saw a gut in that clip posted on the last page.

Hes still personally my ER2, tho the gap has, and continues to, narrow significantly since the beginning of the season.

Honestly, there is no pass rusher in free agency worth a huge money deal like Khalil Macks. Someone will over pay for Ezekiel Ansah and DeMarcus Lawrence but I don't see Lynch doing it. IMO, Saleh may influence Lynch to go after Fowler but I don't think he'll command a ridiculous contract. Signing Fowler should not prevent the 9ers from going after a pass rusher in the top 10, especially since there will be no clear cut starter at both DE spots, not to mention depth is a real concern too.

If (hopefully) we're in the spot to draft Bosa or Ferrell, we don't hesitate or trade down. We need that skillset, and this draft has the goods. Don't overthink this!

As usual, things rarely go as planned.

The more I look and read about it - Ferrell is the best choice - w/no injury history [that I know of]

Having 2 would be absolutely vicious. And I doubt we do that, however, JL/KS do find gems in the later rounds and maybe they'll find another ER in 4-6.

Excelllent list.

IMO, we'll never get Clowey. Houston would be nuts to lose him.

Fowler may berealistic but for some reason I don't feel it happening.

Great game today. No flashy stats or anything, but it was a dominating team effort. NCST came into the game leading the country in third down % but got crushed up front and with solid secondary play. Game was 41-7, and the only score for the Pack came in the second half when Christian Wilkins extended a drive with a personal foul.

NCST has a really good QB in Finley, and he was held to 156 yards passing and 2 INTs, while the defense as a whole logged 10 TFL and held the Pack to 2/12 on third downs.

It's not easy to make Ryan Finley look so clueless, to make State's offensive line so unsure, but that is what the Tigers are capable of doing. This was not, by any means, a good effort by NC State, but don't let that sell the Tigers short of what they did, either.
NC State wanted to put pressure on Trevor Lawrence, maybe force him into some freshman mistakes. NC State never got that pressure. (And anyway Lawrence proved above it.)
Instead, Clemson's pressure made Finley look at times like the panicked freshman. When you win the point of attack, it makes such a huge difference. The scoreboard says as much.
