how does he suck? He was a top 10 RB last year and will only be 26.

Lol, in no way shape or form has he ever been a top 10 RB. He wasn't even in the top 30 in rushing yards or TDs last year.

Well you would be wrong.

He's a mismatch guy...think Alvin Kamara

He hasn't been anywhere near the player Kamara showed as a rookie but he does have the potential to be a mismatch nightmare guy in Kyle's offense. He has really good hands and he has big time speed but everything I have read on him is that he has really poor vision. This scares me. He was a pretty good player in Minnesota but could never take the leap to becoming a real good player and a difference maker. Hopefully that changes in SF

Needs to have more rushing yards.

Depends...look at the Freeman/ Coleman splits under Shanny. One was clearly the predominant pass catching back and one favored the run. If we see McKinnon with a split like that and Breida gets a grand on the ground with Wlliams chipping in another 300 or so? That is a hell of a run game.

Like i have said you dont give 30M to a RB to have him rush 150 times.

and nobody cares....he could catch 100 balls and that would equal 250 touches.

Anyone in the draft that can be his Mark Ingram?

I mean Guice would be ideal but I doubt the draft a RB high....Royce Freeman (who they have meet with) comes to mind. Nick Chubb and possibly Rashaad Penny

Love, love, love this pickup. criminally underutilized in Minnesota. been on his bandwagon forever it seems like. more money than I was expecting, but you have to pay to get the guys you want. especially with the numbers thrown around in free agency this year. just like Juszczyk last year, Lynch paid top dollar to get the guy Shanny wanted for his offense.

I don't know him but from what I've read on this thread, he's a perfect fit for Kyle's offense. I agree, young guy, under-appreciated and under used in his old team, and can be coached up to be better in Kyle's system. Paraag isn't going to let any contracts go crazy without some 49er cap protection- I'm sure of that. Overall I think it's a good signing.

This. 3 yards per carry over his career
Two backs from Georgia Southern. What are the odds.

I like this dude. He's confident he can be a bell cow and looked great in limited touches.
There will be several EXCELLENT backs available in the second day this year. Our offensive backfield (QB/FB/RB) is gone be NASTY.
Way overpaid for him, but We have the cash so i guess they said why not. Better pass catcher, but not convinced he will be a better runner between the tackles. To me he isn't a 3 down RB, so not sure why we valued him so highly....If he got the same money as Hyde and we drafted another RB I would get it.

He sucks so much the Vikings traded for Latavius Murray and drafted Cook with their first pick in the draft last season . And we give him $30 mil. LMAO

You make a decent point but Cook was simply to good to pass up at that point in the 2nd round and Murray and McKinnon basically split time at RB even though Murray seemed to get more carries as the season went on. At worse, I think McKinnon will be a really solid 50-60 catch RB for us. The question is can he become a difference maker and mismatch nightmare for opponents.... We'll see, he's got Kyle Shanahan and Bobby Turner coaching him up now so there are no excuses.

Pass blocks, catches, and runs faster than Hyde.

In ShanaLynch I trust.

Kamara also has a elite QB...I would expect McKinnon to improve on a better offense. His vision isn't amazing (not awful) go watch some film on him. I can live with him as long as we draft a guy to complement him. Breida and Williams aren't those guys
