Trust in Paraag, once the real numbers come out I am sure he has to be an elite RB to reach 7.5

I bet we still draft a RB. Can't count on Williams for anything and Breida is a poor man's McK. We need a stud power back Chubb or Guice.

570 yards? That's all?
And people were b*tching about Carlos Hyde's yards/carry? This dude's is even lower. Plus, he is tiny.

On the surface this price seems pretty steep. But I'll wait to see the breakdown.

You should really look at how McKinnon was used before making this ill advised post.

too bad what a waste of cap space I think its a panic signing .
He had 20 more targets but only 8 more catches.
Hyde led the league in dropped passes with 10. McKinnon was much more efficient.

Do a little reading bro. Not a between the tackles RB. Poorly employed in MN. Younger, faster Dion Lewis. Shanny is licking his chops.

That's a valid point on Lewis. But at 30 million, I'm imagining McKinnon is gonna be a feature back or at least first shot at it. At 3.8 ypc last year don't see it.
I don't think he's gonna be a "feature" back....he's gonna be used like Alvin Kamara. 120 carries along with 80+ targets. Dude can throw up 1,200+ yards from scrimmage in this system.
BIGGER PICTURE people. He helps this whole offense. Grab Chubb or Freeman in the draft and were rolling with rocket fuel.

The story of Carlos Hyde last year is that he's a RB who is not very good as a receiver out of the backfield who played in an offense which throws a lot to RBs out of the backfield; he's a good inside zone and power runner who struggles with outside, who was in an offense that wanted to run outside zone but due to the limitations of Hyde and the offensive line was forced to run a lot of inside zone.
Like Juice, I think it's insane to predict that Jet will be worth the money, but re: what the 9ers want their RBs to be able to do, he's absolutely better than Hyde in every way (even though I think Hyde is maybe a more talented back).
Yup. Both Hyde and McKinnon are in perfect offenses for them now and should reach their full potential.
Now, lock up Sitton and McKinnon won't be TFL on every snap.

Holy crap, this is a big overpay. I live in Vikings territory. I've watched this guy a couple dozen times. He has great straight line speed, can catch well ... and that's it. He does not have good vision which leads to many runs where he runs right into defenders because he has no creativity.
I am not saying he will be bad. He's the definition of mediocre. The issue is paying big money for mediocre when better RBs just signed for less and the draft is crazy deep.
This is the first time Lynch just flat out messed up in my opinion. I have faith but no matter how you cut it, this is a big overpay. Even if he ends up doing well, the fact remains his market value was much less.
Very, very odd.

Yeah, Lewis was the better deal. 31 million for 3.8 ypc with marginal pass pro skills.
McKinnon is 3 yrs younger (which is huge for a RB) and hasn't had any real serious injuries like Lewis.
Both of those, and he's also not coming out of a system that year-in-and-year-out shuffles in new RBs and makes them look better than they are.
Dion Lewis is in a LONG LINE of journeymen RBs who spent some time splitting time in the Pats system and looking like suddenly much more talented players.
