So excited for McKinnon in this offense next week against his old team

I'm not holding my breath game one. If there is one team in this league that can contain his athleticism it's Minny...add to that the insider information they already have on him will give them an even bigger advantage game planning him.

We also know what they do.

I think it's going to be a close game, with us pulling it out at the end. Jimmy goes crazy throwing for over 300 yards and McKinnon with over 100 yards rushing.

That would be lovely! I think it's gonna come down having to put up 21+,and we'll do that. Think we atleast get 23,and that's good enough for the W. D holds them to 20-21.

He wasn't all that great in Minnesota, we paid him a ton of money, he wasn't very good in his limited pre season snaps, and he got hurt.

Don't get me wrong, I trust coach Shanny and think McKinnon will be a good fit here. I just don't find the skepticism to be that strange.

His preseason performance didn't alleviate my concerns about the following:
He has a grand total of two 100 yard rushing games in his career and none since 2014.
He has never had 1000 yards from scrimmage in a season.
991 yds. rushing and receiving may not float your boat, but it's not bad - at all. That's in a much more limited rôle than Shanny has indicated he'll use him.

That is a lot less than Hyde had last year. I have concerns but if he can become Freeman II it would be awesome. Shanahan must know what he is doing.

He is untested and unproven in the larger capacity, so all we can do is wait and see. I'll defer to Shanny's judgment.

You mean, he didn't rush for 100 yards in the first pre season game and then 900 more in the next...to alleviate your concerns?

Haha.

Well, someone is feeling quite optimistic, lol. Make no mistake - this is a team that is a defensive brick wall. That's like expecting someone to go up against us in 2012 and have their QB throw for over 300 and a RB have over 100. That defense is legit and stout. To win, we have to play finesse on offense and smash on defense. You aren't going to smash Minny to death on offense - they got studs all over that front 7 and their DB's are for real. There was a reason they got to the NFCCG by beating the Saints.

Who would you think would have a better offense - NO or us? As much as I love Shanny and Jimmy NO was 2nd in the league in offense and has/had a lot more weapons that we do. Now add to that Kirk Cousins over Keenum and that's gonna be a really, really tough team. Minny knows they're in their SB window and it's why they went all out for Kirk.

If we were to manage to win this game we'd all be talking about SB aspirations, lol.
Over Rated and overpaid.

Already taking a back seat to Morris.

No doubt Morris will lead the team in rushing this season.

I have no doubt everyone will be around shortly to tell me there is no such thing as a lead back in Shannys offense, and it doesn't matter what we pay him, as long at the "groups" production is high.

He is a third down back. Period.

Haha.

Perhaps if he had averaged more than zero yards rather than -1.4 I would be slightly encouraged.
I am hoping he is an upgrade from Hyde and it would be great if he could live up to his contract and perform like Freeman.

I don't see how people can keep trotting out that "Shanahan doesn't use a lead back" narrative after watching the Falcons the two years he was there.

Don't hold your breath. He is a career third down back, and has lost carries to every back he has competed with.

He will be fighting with Brieda for second back duty soon. Its already clear to anyone that Morris will see the majority of carries this season.

I still dont see what Shanny and some of you see in this guy, clearly....

I love Shanny as a HC, but it looks like he may not be as solid as his dad was at identifying RB talent, and making a nobody into somebody at the RB position.
