He wasn't all that great in Minnesota, we paid him a ton of money, he wasn't very good in his limited pre season snaps, and he got hurt.
Don't get me wrong, I trust coach Shanny and think McKinnon will be a good fit here. I just don't find the skepticism to be that strange.
His preseason performance didn't alleviate my concerns about the following:
He has a grand total of two 100 yard rushing games in his career and none since 2014.
He has never had 1000 yards from scrimmage in a season.
You mean, he didn't rush for 100 yards in the first pre season game and then 900 more in the next...to alleviate your concerns?
Haha.
Perhaps if he had averaged more than zero yards rather than -1.4 I would be slightly encouraged.
I am hoping he is an upgrade from Hyde and it would be great if he could live up to his contract and perform like Freeman.
I know, I was just playing. It's understandable...it's a big unknown. The irony is that we ran a ton of IZ with Alfred with a lot of success which is the same system we exited Hyde and Brown for. Hopefully we can find a balance between IZ (Alfred) and OZ (McKinnon)...ideally, they'd both be as equally effective inside and outside so defenses couldn't key in on whoever we have out there.
