He missed 1 game in the last two seasons and this was a non-contact injury.

That's means nothing now that he's a paid feature back and can't make it to regular season
Khalil Mack and the Bears just reached agreeement on a record-setting 6-year, $141 million extension ($23.5M per year avg) that includes $90M guaranteed and $60M at signing, source tells ESPN.

Mack is the new highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.

Not as bad as this tho wow
would like to see Jet in the offense

Lol why ?

Time to recover for the start of next season? Later in the season he could miss time the following year.

Wouldn't OTAs be a better time that way the team has more time to bring in someone else.

We will be alright. We saw what the offende did with Jimmy and Hyde. Jimmy and Morris won't be much of a drop off. Shanny is ready for this. In Shanny we trust....or is it Rollin' with Nolan lol

No he's not. He's been building an offense around McKinnon all off season and we are days away from facing Minnesota. This changes everything.

Now, can Shanny adjust? Sure...but he's got just a few days to rework his game plans.

In addition to that having McKinnon in as oppsed to Morris the D has to respect the pass. Now we tip our hats when Brieda comes in...

Anybody can get an NCI. Anytime, anywhere. Watson, Bridgewater off the top of my head.
Bring in Deangelo Henderson

True, but he's not the biggest back and how many of them successfully last a season without an injury when undertaking a heavy Workload?

I think there was always a bit of a risk paying him to be a three down lead back when he's not the biggest back, and also when you take into account he has never really managed to successfully show he can be that type of back when given the opportunity to fill in for AP and Cook. He showed flashes of big time potential, but he also frustrated and at times.

Time will tell whether he proves to be a smart investment or a bad one, but fingers crossed this turns out not to be that bad, and if it does then fingers crossed it doesn't derail his career.

Yep, s**t happens. But the always pessimistic fans are loving being "proven right" over this, because they put more value in being perceived as smarter than Shanahan and Lynch than in being positive about their team. They trade on misery; it's their sustenance.

Sure it would for both parties. The team gets a chance to blood someone new in, and the back gets extra time to recover from his injury in preparation for next preseason. Essentially the earlier the player suffers a season ending injury the "better" it can be because they can then be ready for the following season and not eat into that season like they could if they got hurt part way into the season. But really there is never a good time for a player to get hurt.
So is he done for the season?
