You will be able to find guys like this in the draft for far less money, especially in a year where the draft is absolutely stacked with RBs.
Out of all the moves ShanaLynch have made, this one makes the least amount of sense to me. That much money for a guy who realistically is a #2 RB?
I have to agree with you here. I'm not sure McKinnon even negates the teams need for a RB in the upcoming draft either, he's more of a situational runner on 1st and 2nd downs anyways. They must like his versatility to split out, play 3rd down, and special teams. Highest risk contract they've given out IMO.
I guess neither Matt Breida nor Joe WIlliams (?) impressed them enough to deserve another shot. This signing effectively tanks their aspirations of playing RB for the 49ers.
