They just need to find one other guy to eat carries. I was joking earlier but they might as well call up Miami and see what the cost would be to acquire Gore. At this point, why not? He and Morris could take up a lot of carries and let Breida be the change of pace guy that defenses will have to respect as a runner and receiver.

One medical site stated that recovery from an ACL tear is 7-9 months. If that's the case, that would put right about there. There are all kinds of variables, however. Will he have the speed that makes him so dangerous? How much size will he lose? Hopefully, he'll be up to the challenge.
My worry is he's lost his speed. That's his biggest asset. If he has, he might not make the team next year. It's a tough loss, but maybe somebody from our practice squad can help. Alfred and Breida will have to carry the load and Mostert's just going to have to start catching the ball more.
This is bad news. I doubted he could hold up to be our bell cow back as he hasn't really always been that in the past in the NFL. But I didn't think he would be hurt for the season this soon. There goes our big splash in free agency. Reduced to nothing. It's a shame and a bad break for this team to start off the season. We will be thin at RB now and have less speed too. It will definitely effect us IMO. I don't think there is any way around that.

My guess is that they'll bring in another RB before ever depending on Mostert. He's there primarily to play special teams and maybe take a few carries in case of an emergency where all the RBs go down in a single game or something.

Agree. I'm not too worried about the RB position with Alfred there. Kyle just loses those mismatches that make this offense more explosive. So we lose some explosiveness - we still have Garcon, Goodwin, Pettis, Kittle and Celek along with Juszczyk. That's plenty of mismatches that can still be created. I'm for McNichols coming back as a replacement for McKinnon and maybe spend a 3rd or 4th round on a RB in next year's draft to replace McKinnon just in case he can't 100% recover his speed and the rest.

Everything is right in this comment except for the "our big splash" part.

I can think of a bigger name from a division rival that we signed...

We also had our "big" splash last year go down with a season ending injury at lb. This team will scrap for a wild card but we are still a year away imo. Morris signing was bigger than we all could have imagined.

I hope they just release McKinnon now - he won't be the same player going forward.

How does the salary cap work if they did that?

What if they just go with Morris and Brieda as the one two punch....bring in Dez to give the passing game a little more threat. A one year deal for $5-$6 mil isn't bad.

I don't know - that's a question for AB.

If they release McKinnon now they take a $6,000,00 cap hit.

Agreed. We should release Mckinnon. He is still tore ACL if he didnt playing for 16 games this year?

Isn't there anyone we can pick up on waivers?

De'Angelo Henderson. Cut by Denver and Broncos fans don't seem to know why. Natural one cut and go back, good speed, very capable receiver.

Yes. We must pick up Henderson. He is pretty good running back! Sign him now. Hurry up!! Call him now!
