Maybe. In either case, really bad luck for the rb crew. Both #1 and #2 sufffered serious injuries in the first preseason game.

Best of luck to Jet. ACL injuries are devastating to speed players.

I certainly hope Lynch is making some calls tonight to fill what looks like the second most important position in Shanahan's offense.
no, he is making the media rounds talking about the scrub tackle we got from the browns

Tha'ts all right, we got Peters manning the boat.

Kyle is going to have to adjust his offense and dial down the exotic mismatches the he had dreamed of since getting McKinnon. Personally, this might be a blessing in disguise, because there's probably at least 60+ running backs available now that he can look at to see who he can make a star like Brieda. Breida was an unknown last year. If Kyle can make a guy like Brieda look good in our offense, I'm sure he can find a running back that can at least fill in the pass catching running back that McKinnon's role was going to be for this year. If he does, we can cut McKinnon and save a ton of cap space and move that to another position, like edge rusher. I'm looking forward to seeing if Kyle can spot another diamond in the rough like Brieda before the Vikings game. We shall see.

Yeah, that makes sense. Some injuries are cumulative. That's why I think Attaochu was released, and it's because he just couldn't get on the field to play. He was an ACL or an ankle injury waiting to happen (similar to what's happened to Harold Landry) in my opinion. The guys they retained are all big strong guys built like DT's, vs slim Harold Landry type players. We shall see if that works or not this season.

Well, Kyle is probably bummed out right now just as we all are. McKinnon was going to be his all purpose tool kit to defeat all defenses known to mankind, now he doesn't have him. He'll just have to get his McKinnon through the draft next year - somehow.
This kind of thing is why I shudder when I hear talk about guaranteed contracts in the NFL like MLB or NBA players. It is just too risky. Niners could be on the hook for $30 million if it was like other sports that don't have a hard cap. I understand why the players want fully guaranteed money but I can't see the owners ever going along with it. Too many NFL injuries are career ending so my advice would be for players to invest in good insurance policies. Hopefully McKinnon comes back okay next year but you never know. Now we really have to hope the other guys stay healthy because depth just got shallower.

Do companies insure RB careers? It would seem to be too risky.

Esp. in systems that require a ton of lateral runs.
Well at least he reduced the 4 games it would have taken Shanny to figure out mckinnon wasn't the answer.

We shall see what Morris has left in the tank.

They'll insure anything. But watch out for those premium payments.
Better that its over now tbh. Guy was never overly durable and probably wasnt gonna make it through the year. i wouldnt have given him the contract he got.
