Worth saying that Paraag may have saved our @ss on this one again.

I think most people think McKinnon was a an overpay, but Paraag worked it so that: (1) he only has 1.5 million in dead money after this year; (2) he's making 4.5 million next year before shooting up to 7.5 APY after that.

So, McKinnon's GTD money and highest paid year were front loaded into this first year when the team could afford it, and if he can't come all the way back or ends up not being effective the team can get out of the contract with very little consequence (1.5 in dead if he doesn't make the team next year, and 4.5 in salary and then 1 in dead if he does make the team next year).

Good post. Paraag took some heat in the media a few years ago, but his value in the organization and forward thinking can't be minimized.

McKinnon's knee was blown 3 weeks ago. It's the same knee he hurt 3 weeks ago that the 49ers called a calf strain.

His calf strain a few weeks ago was really an ACL injury and the team decided to cover it up, then throw him on the practice field to see if he could still go?

Not buying that for a second.
The McKinnon-haters are loving this right now.

All the trash some have been talking about how he was a terrible signing, those same folks are acting like this proves they were right. He would've been a stud in the passing game for us and a great outlet for Jimmy. Seems like some fans just actually pleased that he's on IR now. It's ridiculous.

He most likely hurt the calf , and while favoring it he hurt him self in another area

Well for those who werent fans of the signing, him getting hurt before ever playing a game certainly isnt going to improve how they feel about the situation. Especially when durability was cited as one of the main reasons they werent big on his signing.

That's what Barrows tweeted yesterday. Not that they covered it up but that they initially thought his injury 3 weeks ago was a knee injury. Then it somehow became a calf injury. Something went wrong somewhere between the coaching and medical staff. Both times the guy went down without contact.

He still hasn't proven s**t, talk is cheap, till we see production there will always be a question mark, if he can recover great, if he can't than we can cut him after this season, reminds me of Marcus lattimore situation

why tho

so the same thing can happen to the niners again? Maybe a DUI charge or domestic dispute?

I'm done with tanking. Reid, Ward, Garnett etc all were not worth a lost season.
