No but his use and effectiveness on the Special teams is why he has a spot. He can return, and he's a solid gunner too.
It's a bummer, but I think we can hold things down with Morris and Breida.
That's interesting because a roster spot will open with McKinnon on IR unless they already filled it somewhere else.

We have a potential out of his contract after this season with only $1.5M in dead cap. So if the 49ers really REALLY wanted to, they could go get Bell...

Maiocco says "when swelling goes down."

I'm usually anti-spending a lot on a RB but if by some miracle he can be had for a 3rd round pick and $15M a year I would go for it...

We can't get out from McKinnons deal next year with only a 1.5 million cap hit. His pro rated signing bonus is bigger than that, not to mention putting the 3 years of it remaining into one cap hit, or two if waived after June 1st, it's still more than 1.5 million and for multiple years?

Uh, Adrian Peterson tore his ACL & MCL in Dec 2011, and was MVP in 2012.
McKinnon is also a workout junkie, he'll be fine.
I hope so. But it would be still smart for ShanaLynch to draft a pass catching RB in next years draft (after trading up to the top five pick to get an edge rusher of course),

Signing bonus are not always equally spread out over the life of a contract.

- NFL Pick 'em
It's really sad to start the year off with the jet injured. The lb and safety matchup nightmare catching the ball out of the backfield would of really helped us out. It may end up costing us a game or 2. Hoping the other rbs pick it up
