How many still think Jet is making the cut? Mostert signing means the Jet will need a new home.

Uhhhhh, no. Mostert is a special teams standout who can also do well as a backup. After having to start a 5th string RB late in the year Shanny wants a good stable of backs that can all run his system and all be home run hitters.

+1 Many teams sign an extra WR or DB as gunner, ours is an RB who proved to be a solid backup. Face it guys, we're carrying 4RB's and 3QB's this year. That's probably the additional upside of having Ward... he saves a roster spot by being able to play 2 positions.

Don't think carrying 3 qbs is a lock.

What if he's not medically cleared by then? Aren't there injury guarantees ?

He must hit the ground running any delay and he's gone.

Then I think there has to be a trade in the works. I don't see any way that we can suit up 5 running backs on gameday.

IF the 49ers are trading one of their backs here soon, I'd prefer it to be McKinnon. Breida has earned his place. Mostert might just be the best ST player in the NFL + has value on offense.

Hard to argue that. McKinnon was brought in because of his explosiveness, pass protection and pass catching ability.
With an ACL, it may take him a while to get back to the point where he's beating defenders to the edge in OZ laterally.
With Coleman as a primary back, he's 1) healthy 2) familiar with the offense and proven in it 3) an excellent OZ runner 4) terrific in PP and 5) a tremendous weapon in the receiving game.
Throw in Breida plus Mostert and Kyle has everything he wants for his specific scheme.

We simply don't know about Mckinnon's health. I doubt there is any trade in the works until that is known.

A few reasons i would keep Breida over McKinnon
1) The ACL injury i doubt Jet comes back with the elusiveness/speed
2) Age Breida is 2 years younger then him
3) Breida has a dirt cheap contract compared to McKinnon
4) Breida has shown he can run between the tackles catch out the backfield N pass protect as well
