I'm not sure he is a 4 down back though

He may not be. But he doesn't need to be. He already got paid - that part is over now. The remaining salary is in line with the player you're describing.

Agreed

that's my main concern

He's a one cut get upfield runner, which is something kyle wants in his OZ, I agree he's not a tackle breaking RB.

What will his role be though ?? Shanahan said before that each rb with define their roles in camp, now that he has this setback. There may not be a role for him to define other than pass catching.

Yep, thus why his contract was structured as it was. And getting TC on the cheap gives us a plan B while still having Mostert and Brieda to share a little of the load.

Not sure TC is the plan B though , that's where it gets confusing. Could Coleman be the starter and mckinnon be the back up??

Well they knew Jerrick was on the mend, but couldn't be sure of his time frame and know that some players take time to get back to that previous pre ACL form. So TC provides insurance in that regard but his knowledge of the O and skill set make him legit comp for RB1 and at this point is probably the favorite to start week one.

Nobody's dissing , I'm just saying he is a great pass catcher but that's not all there is to being a rb. Hes not a good runner that's all I'm saying

Love to see him in the system before saying he's an awful runner.

True, but with KS zone blocking scheme it's not so much making guys miss but rather making one cut and hitting the hole the OL opens, right? Not positive

Yes, that's actually the most important quality for a RB in this scheme.

This offense puts less of a premium on that and more on decisiveness and vision. Make your cut quickly and go. If everyone has done their job you should have a whole lot of open green out in front of you.

Have no idea...gonna have to sit back and watch

I will say he can run/catch/PB which allows him to be on the field whenever. Health is an issue though
Hope he's ready for week 1

Correct, if it was about breaking tackles we would have kept Hyde
Everyone needs to chill they said McKinnon wouldn't be on the PUP for too long

I'm specifically talking about being used as a receiver and not making people miss in 1 on 1 situations, I hope if a defender is nearby in those situations it isn't a guaranteed tackle

I had the same concern about Breida and he turned it around

Probably not. And though I'm excited to see him in this offense, Coleman, Breida, and even Mostert to a lesser extent have reps and production in this offense. Idk how long he will remain on the PUP list, but whatever length it is, he'll have to really outperform the other guys to get a shot now.

Doubt it. He will be RB2 at minimum the day he gets off PUP and is ready for a full practice.
