Exactly, may have pushed himself too hard

I wouldn't feel too bad for him. He's getting paid millions of dollars for hanging around a NFL team. Lots of coal miners and commercial fishermen are doing dangerous jobs for a pittance.

Tbh I dont think you see Coleman or brieda take more than a series each game during the preseason

Good. Give Mostert, Wilson, and Walter all the carries.

He'd probably rather be playing than just hanging around.
This reminds me a lot of Marcus lattimore. Seemed to have the same problems and couldn't ever come back. I hope I'm wrong but it's seemingly becoming the same issues. Maybe best interest to cut him after this year if he can't play and free up some cap room.

Agreed !!! Shanahan cant mismanage these 4 weeks. One series for the preseason and that should be enough.

Pretty big difference between what Lattimore suffered compared to McKinnon.

Doesn't compare to lattimore at all.... dude was closer to having his leg amputated than playing football again

The problem with these ACL injuries is that every person's body responds differently at a molecular level to the trauma.

Some come back like nothing ever happened. Others get chronic inflammation. It's too early to say with McKinnon. But considering he has done next to zero weight bearing explosive change of direction... it's not a good sign.

It just means the knee got hot, instead of practicing two straight days he should of taken a day off after the first one. Too much too early.

The swelling of his knee is directly related to the trauma that was inflicted upon it -- both the injury itself and the surgery. Nobody knows (not even the doctors) if his swelling will be a longterm issue. It's more than just a matter of too much too soon. It's a matter of how his body responds to localized trauma.
Ya double injury for lattimore but they are experiencing the same problems with recovery. Lattimore tried to practice but suffered near the same setbacks. Knee always painful after practices. Setback after setback. Seeing a lot of similarities in how there knees are responding.

Yup.

Agreed also its worrisome because he has to get shots as well. They just really minimize the pain , they dont necessarily speed up recovery or do they ??

In the long run PRP can do both. But it is not guaranteed.

https://www.howardluksmd.com/sports-medicine/prp-injection-procedure-and-recovery-time/

One of the most common uses for PRP is to treat osteoarthritis of the knee, and less commonly of the shoulder and hip. This post goes into more detail about PRP injections for knee arthritis. PRP will not reverse or cure the arthritis. The main goal of the PRP is to decrease the inflammation within the joint. We have used this successfully in combination with other procedures such as an embolization for people looking to delay a knee replacement.

Their injuries are not the same, lattimore was taking pain medication to get through practices, that's a totally different situation.

I think he means that Lattimore could never get going on the knee. McKinnon is having trouble with just two workouts.
