With the way we rotate backs, why pay someone to be a feature back?
Lynch likes to throw cash around like a Billionaire's wife who doesn't care about the value of a hard earned dollar...
Ward, Jet, JG...paid well while keeping that bench warm af

Jimmy's contract is actually a bargain by today's standards. It was heavily front loaded and after this season the Niners can cut him prior to next April and not be on the hook for much money. Not saying they will but it's a very team friendly contract.
This also means he's been paid a ton of money upfront and hasn't proven a thing.
So? They were not up against it CAP wise, and unless you have a York surname why do you care?

Either way, even if we tagged him, we would have paid him a ton anyway. Plus, when you finally do sign him, that figure definitely wouldn't be merely $27.5 mil a year that's for sure.

I have a feeling McKinnon might not make it back. Not every ACL case makes it back. But, when you have so many setbacks thus far, the knee is kind of telling you what's up.

With 3 very good backs it may be better to part ways now. I don't think he will ever play for the team.

He's starting to remind me of that what dope as RB in college we drafted a few years back...he tried and tried to get on the field but his knees (both were bad) kept telling him no.

Thems the breaks.
It's not my money, so who gives a crap.
Because it's your teams money and they have a limited cap. That money could go to another player .
As for what they pay training staff, coaches, scouts.. I don't give a s**t. Cuz that ain't my money and doesn't effect cap.

I agree. Add in the fact that his strength is in quickness and speed, and that will take a hit when the kind of injury he's had.

Don't need him. Get out of the contract the cheapest way possible.

Yes. Is it realistic to expect he will be able to carve out a role with Coleman and breida on the team? He's being paid like a feature back but never has been in his career and I don't really see what he can do that Coleman or Breida cant also do.

Cap hell these days is a myth. The odds of Paraag allowing it to occur are extremely low.

If you actually think McKinnon's contract has hamstrung the roster then you're sorely mistaken
