either cut him. ir him or whatever. we over payed for him anyway. just do with him what they did with smith. admit it was a mistake. admit we are more than fine at running back. give him a settlement and send him on his way

It's a mistake because he blew his knee knee out? He never had injury issues before this and was signed to have a feature role in this offense. He was overpaid for 1 season
his body of work did not justify giving him all that money in my opinion. that was the mistake

This, especially when we got Tevin for such a great deal.

yes , thank you and then found three scrubs who have done a great job. i included wilson in that mix

His previous body of work would have made him a nightmare for opposing teams in this offense.

They'll probably IR him with designation for return and if it still hasn't improved, they'll probably release him with an injury settlement.

Yet another injury salary we'll never get to see in on the field. Is it too early to mention injury settlement and just move on?
Feel for the guy

Yeah, it is a shame, and it is bad luck. I think he could have been really something in this offense, but sometimes guys just cant come back from an injury. It happens, usually not before your first snap with your new team...but we have three great backs for the system here and ready to go. Put him on I.R. see if he can return mid season. If he isn't healed by then, his career is probably over anyway. Feel bad for the guy, this was going to be his chance at becoming a star, he had all the tools to be a monster in this offense.

Can't lose what you never had. Jet has never contributed so the actual net loss is negligible. Coleman and Cheetah are more than capable of handling the load with Mostert ready to contribute while adding special teams value on gameday. Just remembered Coleman signed a two year deal so we're good through 2020. Jet can take his sweet time.

It isn't too early to mention, but there is no great reason too. He got almost all his money last year. Might as well stash him on I.R. and pray for a miracle. Never know it could pay dividends if we lose a guy and he finally heals at the turn.

Yeah it sucks for him. Maybe he needs 2 years to fully recover. Some people need a lot longer then others.
The question now is IR for the whole season or IR designated for return

Agreed. Put the man on IR. Unless, his deal is structured so we can save cash against the cap by letting him go. I'm not familiar enough with his contract situation to know otherwise.

But, if we have to pay the man regardless, I say we stash him on IR until he's ready. Some knees take a full two seasons to recover from.

Remember that the first time Jimmy G. gets thumped hard in a regular season game.

LOL. No

k, how bout now?
Like others, i feel bad for Jet, but here is one deal that didn't work out. Two yrs in a row...and he never got on the field...it was just a bad deal, so let's move on. It would be ridiculous to assume he will be fine after we wait for results of next surgery...or whatever. Move on. Not every signing turns out well...and this one is done. I don't fault anyone here, but it would be bad if we continued to hold onto him in hopes of his getting better. Ixnay....NOPE...and don't . Just move on.

speculation.. in fact. we never got jack from him so we will never know. with the guys we have . there is no reason to keep him anymore.
"Just because he's kind of working through this, we're working it, I'm going to kind of leave it at that, but yesterday was no encouraging from that standpoint. What that means, we're not sure yet, and we're working hard to find that out."-- Lynch

It sucks because it's no one's fault that he hurt himself. Injuries happen. The good thing is that the team seems adequately covered at back. The business part of the game dictates to let him go and save money going forward.
