Between Soloman Thomas and McKinnon, this fanbase has a really hard time accepting that these players just aren't very valuable when it comes to production on gameday.

Solly is pretty talented. His focus just wasn't there. I wonder if it was , oh idk, because his sister killed herself?
That could've been it.

Typical of the kind of drama that goes on in this thread. Like Malcolm Smith this has been a case of bad luck more than anything else. If McKinnon hadn't gotten hurt and had produced 1500 yards from scrimmage last year and 9 TD's would that have still qualified it as being one of the worst signings in franchise history. The knee jerk reactions and hyperbole that this thread elicits is really something. If Lynch signed a player and on his way to the first team practice a meteor fell out of the sky and landed on the player's SUV there would be a chorus of people in here going on about how bad Lynch is at his job.

Yep. Totally right.

well thats a lot of ifs, ands, or buts. Of course if he had 1500 yards, everyone will think hes great. But nobody is going to give them a pass because of potential. Especially when paying top dollar for a running back is something that most teams avoid trying to do these days since its treated as an inconsequential position
49er fans sure love to hate their players for things out of their control.

The situation sucks, that's all there is to it. It's not Jet's fault, it's not Lynch's fault. It's simply bad luck and trying to woulda-coulda-shoulda is a fool's errand.
ACL injuries still can be a death blow to an athletes career, even with modern medicine.

Jet wasn't injury prone. He had never had a knee issue when he was signed.

NO ONE CAN PREDICT THE FUTURE.

I know the armchair GMs in this forum are winning the lottery every week with their perfect number picks, but your genius isn't repeatable. ;)

If we're being objective this is right...fans aren't objective though and need to blame someone. Dumb but it's real.

My favorite is the "cut him" comments when literally nothing is gained.
Agreed this is just bad luck and the reality that not everyone recovers from this injury the same way.
So does this change anything really? We all assumed he'd go on IR to start the season...

You cant judge for us all fans in comments. Jets wanted more moneys for 7 millions and missed for whole games by last year. It is Jets fault his injury?! So he must responsible himself and must play cuz he got $$$

I'm not sure I'm following what you're trying to say here. Jet wants more money?

the issue to me is that lynch over payed for guys like smith and jet. maybe he had to.but he did. the injuries just happened. smith was garbage when he did play for us and i think even lynch saw the guy was not earning his salary. it is silly to set there and project breathlessly what the alleged jet would have done for us. with the team doing a bit better. i hope the days of over paying for average talent is in the past. what they do with jet means nothing to me. i do not think the team can hope he will be better next year. i do not think he will ever see the field for us and now the team needs to hope they can keep wilson
