The situation sucks, that's all there is to it. It's not Jet's fault, it's not Lynch's fault. It's simply bad luck and trying to woulda-coulda-shoulda is a fool's errand.

You cant judge for us all fans in comments. Jets wanted more moneys for 7 millions and missed for whole games by last year. It is Jets fault his injury?! So he must responsible himself and must play cuz he got $$$

it is easier for some posters to blame other posters for all that is bad in their life

Between Soloman Thomas and McKinnon, this fanbase has a really hard time accepting that these players just aren't very valuable when it comes to production on gameday.

Soloman thomas's sister f**king killed herself dude. obviously his head wasn't in the game. at all. and how could he? the fact he even showed up to play or was around football at all is mind-boggling. i'd be totally lost. awful.

It means that he'll almost certainly go on IR to start the season. That was still up in the air, based on how he felt after his practice yesterday. If he had felt recovered then he may have just been inactive for a few weeks.

In either case, the real question is what type of IR do they use. I believe they can IR him before the cutdown on Saturday, but that means he's ineligible to come back this season. If they want to use one of the two "eligible to return after Week 8" IR designations, they need to have him on the 53-man roster, and then IR him on Sunday. But this would expose one other player they want to keep to waivers for 24-hrs.

My guess, based on Lynch's comments, is that they'll just IR him and take him out of the equation for 2019. Yes, it would suck if he's totally good to go with no further setbacks in, say, November, but I'd rather not put any pressure on the guy and have him focus on 2020.

I think. He said. He cant blame for McKinnon and Lynch. And he said. 49ers fans were rude. He is sound like judge and not respect for any 49ers fans in comments.

If McKinnon will sign for 2.5 millions than 7 millions. Then I dont mind him to IR. I can wait for him healthy when he will return in week9?!

You can complain about what he got paid...but he wasn't injured when signed. Look at it from a scheme standpoint. He's a miss match nightmare in 21 personnel. No LBer can guard him. He's one of the best RB pass-blockers in football. He could have had a stupid productive season. I get the signing.

A non-contact fluke ACL happened a week before the season started. Unfortunately that's football. I really don't think he wanted to tear his ACL.

This doesn't change anything. Just about everyone assumed he was going on short-term IR, they will still have 4 RBs on the roster and wilson can stay on PS.

Why would he restructure his contract? Dude might not ever get a contract again. We can't cut him because he's getting his money regardless this yr anyway.

Is what it is, I totally got the signing and what he brought to the team scheme wise. Bad luck for the ACL.

I don't know what cc is saying (haven't read a post of his in years - thank you block option!), but to be clear - there's a certain cult of 49er fans who LOVE to bash the players / front office about everything. They love hating the 49ers and the players more than they would like wins. It's been an obvious black mark on this forum for YEARS. They like being bigshot doomsayers more than anything. If they had to choose between 1. McKinnon coming back and being a great player and helping the 49ers win, therefore proving their handwringing wrong, or 2. McKinnon having his leg amputated and never playing a down for the 49ers, therefore proving their doomsaying right, they'd choose #2 every time, because their ego is the most important thing.

I loathe this type of "fan", and I won't be shy about saying so.

So what they're gonna keep Coleman/Breida/mostert/juice and Wilson on the active roster?

Just shut him down and see if he can come back midseason. We probably will need the depth at that point, but we're good for now.

But honesty it seems like things arent really gonna go his way. Kwon and Jimmy are doing fine and he's having setback after setback. I dont even know if another 8 weeks will help.

I think this is the sensible approach regarding Jet.
This team tries to stick with its players, and that's a good quality.

Of course that only makes sense if this team is a winner.

They were always likely to keep 4 RBs + Juice.

That's all depending on talent level as well. I like wilson but a healthy jet was a reason to keep 4, wilson imo is not.

He probably goes back to the PS.
